We went to my inlaws for Passover dinner last night and I feel like it was one drama after another. Usually at my family meals we don't have drama.... because my aunt refuses to come to the meal which is drama in itself. Hoping this trend doesn't continue as we get older!

We are pretty lucky. I would say 99% both my family and my husband's family have no drama.

Ug, sorry. My family has plenty of drama too - especially the hubby's family.

My side of the family literally has no drama. I'm pretty lucky in that aspect. Unfortunately hubby's family has enough issues to make up for it

Luckily we don't have any drama really.. the only drama is my sister. She and I aren't talking so it makes things awkward. -.-

The only family drama that we have is my dad's mom. She's either sociopathic or a pathological liar or both (as an example, she told my aunt she was "investing" in my parents' rental property and took at least $10K from her, despite having nothing to do with my parents' rental property. My aunt is a missionary with 3 kids.) But now that my brother has a son, he finally told her off - had his wife take his son out of the house to get him out of the "toxic environment", then told Grandma that nothing obligates him to have his family around her, and he will not tolerate her vile behavior. She's been much better behaved since then.

My MIL is drama. So is one of my DH's brothers..he spends all his $ on new gadgets but borrows money for food and gas!

@autumnlove: Maybe people should stop lending him money. When he's starving and has no money for food, he might think twice before buying the latest gadget.

There's always drama in my family. Although, it's gotten better now that we grew up and matured. There's always drama with my dad, though.
As for DH's side, they have some drama, too.

My mom's side of the family and my brothers have so much drama. It makes me glad that I live far away because I would be so stressed out if I had to constantly deal with it.

I wish! My mom's side of the family is seriously crazy and cruel! Not a good combination. Especially my aunt and her kids...I feel bad for saying this but I really hope to never see them again because there is always drama. But come to think of it, they cause drama even when I dont see them.

@artbee: We spend Easter with my husband's family so I'm sure we'll be dealing with some sort of drama... In fact the reason we spend this holiday with them is due to drama itself.. LOL

We have very little on my side. It's so nice. Only one sister ever causes drama and it's mostly resolved. She has issues with not feeling involved or included in family stuff, but she's a state away so most she can't make it to anyway, and there was some jealousy issues. But we are just really intentional about good communication and being intentional and it makes things easier, some people are just more easily offended so it pays to be cognoscent of that even if it means apologizing when it may not necessarily be your fault.
We've had a lot less drama now that we're older and have been proactive about being friends. And I'm so glad, my sisters are my best friends and I feel so lucky to have that.

But my husbands side.... Now that's a different story!!! Thankfully they live across the country so we don't have to deal with it much.
