Am I weird? I get super embarrassed buying Pregnancy tests in the store. I just feel like ttc is a private thing, and I get horribly flustered, like I'm announcing it to the world.

I used to hide them in my cart and only do self-check out! I was always afraid I'd run into one of my students!

I felt embarrassed the first time I bought them!

Sometimes, only because I look kind of young for my age and I feel like the checkout people are judging me (although it is very likely this is all in my head..)

Always! I have to coach myself to the register. "You're married, old enough, have a stable life and highly capable of caring for and raising a child. No one should judge you. Just by the tests."

Yes, I did!! You could always order them online in bulk and never have to worry about it, or hide it in your cart and do self check out. or send your SO

Yes! Even better, at our drugstore, they keep the tests behind this locked plexiglass door on the shelf so you have to ask someone to get one for you! Last time I bought one, I just reached behind the glass and got it myself. Oops.

Yeah, I always went to the self check out. AND I was embarrassed buying prenatals cause the first time I did, like 3 months prior to ttc, the woman behind the counter flashed me a huge smile and said "Congratulations!!" Dying.

Yes! I always seem to find the cashier that feels the need to comment of my purchase

Haahah, I just bought mine this afternoon. First, I realized I was wearing an old high school soccer sweatshirt (and I was buying the tests IN that high school's district, so it was waaaay obvious), so I tried to make my wedding rings more...prominent. Then I felt like I needed...something else to check out with so a Diet Coke and a Christmas tree Reese's it was! Then, the only cashier was a high school kid. He was fine, but then I set the alarm off as I was checking out. Sigh.
I'll be using Amazon next time.

You could buy them on Amazon! It never phases me to buy them, though.

Just today I went to buy some and the grocery store had them behind Plexiglas right at the front of the pharmacy with a long line of people right next to them, so I would've been totally obvious. I just told myself I'd get them another time lol

Thanks Ladies! I bought some Wondfo's from Amazon, but its super awkward carrying a cup and test to the bathroom at my in-law's house (it's right in the middle of the house). So I went to Rite-Aid to get a couple of regular ones and set off the alarm. Twice. It was mortifying. At least my husband was there with me.

Yes!! I really don't know why - it's not like the staff care one bit and I always wear my wedding ring - but I'd always feel like I was a teenager, two weeks after a brief encounter in a bus shelter!!! They're security tagged in my local supermarket so you have to have cashier interaction, even if you go to the self service checkout.

Totally!! I always buy extra crap that I don't need to cover them in my basket. I'm from a small town and ALWAYS run into someone that I know.
Last week I bought some OPKs and the cashier packed up all of my stuff except for the OPKs -which she kindly left on the counter in front of the entire line while she left to go get coins for her cash.
Then when she came back she started waving them around in the air trying to get the magnetic strip to deactivate...apparently she didn't do a good enough job because as I walked out of the store the security machine went beeping and flashing and security came running and shouted out "JEAN! You forgot to deactivate her pregnancy tests!!!".
Where's a rock to crawl under when you need one?

Yes! The ones in my store are in those hard plastic cases that you have to get taken off, so no self checkout for me!

I always bought more than just the test so I could hide it in the cart. I don't know why I cared but I didn't want it to be the only thing I bought!

I always think they are judging me because I look so young! Then again, I get embarrassed buying tampons lol

Haha, the first time I bought them I mentioned to the cashier, "Oh, these aren't for me" I couldn't be more obvious!

@Mrs. J: I do too, lol!
I always use the self checkout, buy multiple items, and grab the tests last. It's especially embarrassing to have my lo with me!

I had a bad experience so now I make dh do it.
After buying a test at my local grocery store I went back to the same checkout lady and she had the nerve to ask me if I was pregnant. I lied and said no. I hadn't even told my mom yet, I wasn't telling her! And then she asked how long I've been married and said its better to wait. Which made me feel great, since I was pregnant, a planned pregnancy mind you. But I ended up having a miscarriage and being very happy I lied to her.
I wrote a letter to the grocery store telling them how rude their employee was. That's private information!
