Will he fall asleep in the car? Could you time car rides to his nap time so that he will pass out and not cry?

My friend had the same problem with her baby. They ended up switching carseats & that solved the problem! Just something to consider

DS LOVES his car seat...so long as its not in the car! he slept in his carseat for the first month of his life and its still one of the few things that will calm him down(swinging him in his car seat) but once you clip it into that base and start going he's a terror!!!

A screaming baby in the car sucks!! My LO hated the carseat when we had the infant positioners in it. Now he tolerates the carseat.

When we were on vacation he had a hard time with the carseat we were using but he is fine with the one we use at home, so switching seats might be a good option.

Hearing about other people's experiences with their babies is really tough (although comforting when they are similar to yours!) and it is hard not to compare LOs without wanting to sock someone for having it easier than you. I can totally relate!!!

My 9-month old used to really hate the car seat. He would cry a loud scream-y cry every time. I avoided driving places unless absolutely necessary. When he was really young, it helped to play the white noise of radio static (tune it between stations and turn up the volume). Moving him into a convertible seat helped a little. Reaching my arm back to pat him on the head helped.
But the point is, it got a lot better. Now he will play with a toy for a while before starting to fuss, or look out the window. I think he understands now that he is not alone even if he can't see me. So don't despair!
Is there anyone you could carpool with so that you could sit in the back with the baby?

My LO didn't like his car seat and would fight every time we put him in. Around 10 months we switched him to a convertible car seat, and he is so much better. I think the infant car seat was reclined back too much for him to enjoy the ride.

yes, LO hated her carseat until she was about 3-4 months. i was so afraid to take her anywhere because the anxiety of hearing her cry from destination 1 to destination 2 was too much! but then all of a sudden one day, she stopped crying in the carseat. i think she just got used to it. we had the graco snugride 35.
