Target. Where you can never buy just one item.
I went in to buy puffs. I walked out with puffs, a bathing suit and swim diaper for LO, 2 v-neck t-shirts for me, and bubble bath soap. Geez.

ha! YES.
I purposefully walk in there sometimes wearing my son in the bjorn - no cart, and no basket, so I can't buy a lot of stuff, and I end up carrying as much as I can balance on my way out.
LOVE target!

@betsyboop: so very true.
Target is our corner store (right at the end of our street). I'll go in to pick up milk or diapers and come home with all kinds of stuff.

I can't get out of there for less than $50, even if my only goal is to return something!

Haha - and that is why I have to avoid it as much as possible! There's no such thing as a 'quick' stop

It's definitely dangerous. My co-workers pooled together for a big target gift card for us after M was born. Best baby gift ever.

The trick is only looking at what you came in for. We buy all of our groceries at Super Target and I try not to go into the non-grocery part of the store when it's not necessary, or it will double the price of the trip! But ahhh, I love Target.

You guys are making me so excited for when our Target opens in July (or when I head to my hometown in 2 weeks and get to shop in target there for the first time!)

@MsMini: Say whaaaa? A Target Virgin?! I didn't know such species existed! Although, I am sure some New Yorkers would be horrified to know that I have never shopped at Bergdorf's.

Seriously!! I was proud of myself on Sunday, I went in and bought only the two items I needed and nothing else.

There is one really close to me and I go way too often. I went last week and only managed to spend $30. That's a first!

This makes me want to go to Target. Now. Good thing we're doing the saving week with the bees!

The other day I went in for a photo album. I came out with that.... and two shirts for LO (plain shirts to make her Halloween costume and 4th of July outfit), bathing suit, and sunscreen.

my college roommates and i used to joke that you couldn't go in there without coming out at least $30 lighter. (this was a while back.) it's so true!

Yup, I went in just for my nephew's bday present and bought his present, a rug runner, a nursing bra, 4 pairs of underwear, 4 cans of sunblock, a value pack of tissue boxes and a loofah. In my defense though, the prices were so low (less than 1/2 of what I pay in NYC for these things) and I never get the chance to shop at Target so you could argue that I didn't buy enough lol!

I am so embarrassed how much I spent there today! Luckily some of it was clothes that ended up looking terrible so I'll be returning them.

I'm curious to know what Target's average sale transaction is. Mine always tend to be in the $40-60 range. It's terrible.

I spent $110 today. On...what?! I don't even know. Sometimes when I'm there I ask myself 'would DH judge me if he saw this in the cart when I get home?' Then 99.9% of the time it's a yes and I try to put it back...

This is why I try my best to go to Walgreens over Target when I'm on a toiletry run. Even though Target often has better deals, I know that if I leave the house for cotton swabs, and chapstick, I will come home with cotton swabs and chapstick.
On the contrary, if I go to Target, I'll come home with cotton swabs, chapstick, two new Essie nail polishes, a summer beach bag, two scarves, a pair of sandals, and about 60,000 outfits for our still-in-my-belly LO.

Most definitely! On my Mint account, there have been months where the amount of money spent at Target surpassed how much we spent at the grocery store. Ooops....
