Use "dada" interchangeably for you and your SO? My mom watched R while I went food shopping this morning. When I got home R squealed "dada" and crawled over to me. She's been calling me "dada" for a few weeks even though we tell her I'm "mama" and she can finally make that sound. Ah well.

The LO I nanny does this! She is SUCH a mama's girl, and yet both mom and dad are "dada". She can definitely say mama, and she used to say it a lot more, but she seems to have phased it out of her vocabulary recently.

C calls DH dada, and he uses the sign for 'milk' for me and calls me 'mik'. I guess that's all I am to him lol

He does say something that sounds like dad (”adadd”) but I'm not sure it refers to either of us!

Before Xander really figured out how to say Mama, he always called both Hubs and me Dada. And sometimes he'll still call me Dada. Though he never calls Hubs Mama!

Yup, DD2 calls a few things dada! I think that's just her favorite sound. She only calls me mama when she REALLY wants something.

Yup! Sometimes I'm dada and sometimes he's mama. I still don't think she gets what she's saying.

@grizz: That is cracking me up! A does call me "Mama", but is usually signing "milk" with both hands when he does it.

The only word to come out of DS's mouth in the last week is dada. At first I thought he was looking for DH since he was away, now he is just looking at me and saying dada. I know he can say mama and he usually calls me mom, hurry up DH and get back so I can be mom again.
