So we have PTAC heating and cooling systems in our apartment and I have never had that before. Just wondering if anyone here has these too and what you do for your thermostat settings. I don't know if the typical setback rules apply to the heat pump.

Interesting. We usually spec those in hotel rooms and each room has their own thermostat.
Do you or don't you have a thermostat. We don't usually spec programmable thermostats. Is that what you're asking? Do you pay for heating and cooling?

Exactly, it looks just like the ones in hotel rooms but the thermostat is basically on the unit. So you can set it to whatever temp you like. But I am not sure whether it is energy efficient to change the temps at varying times etc because the unit is purely electric. Yes, we pay for heating and cooling.
