Wondering about using this in the winter vs firing up the charcoal grill (which I personally hate)

I don't have this one, but I have a griddle and I used to use it pretty frequently untill I got a one burner grill pan. I use that at least once a week no matter what time of year. Full disclosure, I am not a stand in front of the grill person lol

We got one as a wedding present. It's a great griddle. We pan fry meat a lot, so we don't use it super frequently. I've used it a lot over 8 years, so it's a nice kitchen griddle.

I have a different version and I never use it. I've found it hard to clean in the grooves. Plus, since it goes over two burners, there are hot and cold spots. I keep forgetting to give it away or sell it.
ETA: I actually got an electric griddle that I use all of the time for things like pancakes and french toast. My kids could live on french toast so I batch cook a couple of loaves at a time and keep it in the freezer. I realize that doesn't help you with your grilling request.

I have the slightly smaller version (https://www.amazon.com/Lodge-LDP3-Reversible-9-5-inch-16-75-inch/dp/B002CMLTXG/ref=sr_1_3?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1509632950&sr=1-3&keywords=lodge+griddle&dpID=41rtDW-mgoL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch).
We use the griddle side a lot but use the grill side very infrequently. The grill side is kind of annoying to clean and I also have a standard grill pan (non-cast iron, so I can use soap to clean) and live in Georgia so winter grilling is usually fine.
That said, I like the griddle side a lot!

I have it and use it occasionally. We don't eat meat so we mostly use the flat side for pancakes and the grill side for veggies. Works great.

we have a grill pan that i use in place of the grill often. but it only goes over one burner. we use it often, even in the summer.

i had it in our condo, loved it. it heats up very nicely, and if you season it before use, it's easy to clean (just rinse when it cools, like a cast iron skillet).

We do, and we don't really use it. The grill side is extremely hard to clean and the oil/fluid groove on the griddle side isn't deep enough to account for the fact that our floors/cooktop aren't at all level.

@birdofafeather: I love my non stick grill pan too! Bought one on clearance on a whim and it’s great. I just used it today to grill a big batch of chicken to save.

@Mamaof2: we have one and it gets used at least once a week. We have these to clean it
I use it year round for everything from veggies to meat to pancakes.

We had a single burner version by the same company. My husband hated to clean it and we ultimately got a cuisinart grill/griddle, which we've used more. However, I should say that my husband has pretty low tolerance when it comes to doing dishes - just not his thing - and does not like cleaning cast iron.
