I was surprised at how many people referred to expressed breastmilk as "liquid gold". I thought we were the only ones who did that!

Totally! I think it was a phrase I actually picked up from my mom, so I'm guessing the term has been around for a while.

Yes! All my friends called it the same thing so I always thought it was just a common word for it. And isn't it the best word for it? I can't think of anything else that would describe it as perfectly!

Not usually, once in awhile we did after reading a couple articles on breast milk pharmaceuticals and how it's worth more than gold per ounce and some dubious strategies that companies have taken to get women to donate for free.

I've heard it referred to that way for a long time now but rarely refer to it that way.

I used to call it liquid gold when my supply was low.

I totally call it liquid gold working in NICU, especially when it is just colostrum and the volume is so so low, every drop is precious.

I must be the only one who doesnt. I EBF, and trust me I KNOW how valuable it is and I get mad if I even spill a drop...but I dont call it that. Its weird to me

Absolutely. My non-mommy friends didn't understand why I was so concerned about wasting breastmilk - they thought that it was just a neverending supply. Oh, heck no!
