Hellobee Boards

Aaahhh I just posted on the announcment thread about getting it or not.

Pros- Extra privacy
Con- I am not sure DH would appreciate spending money on a social site. But then if most of the posts become private would it be fun to come on hellobee anymore

I am going to run it past DH tonight, but I assume he will say yes because he knows how much I love Hellobee (and that I am addicted!). If you do the math it's about $2/month, and I used to spend $4/day on Starbucks before I got pregnant (I haven't had Starbucks in almost 4 months!) so I totally deserve it

I chose maybe. I don't know if I want to spend $25 on a website that really isn't something I need. But then again, I really love it here, and I couldn't imagine having limited access

I may get gift subscriptions for friends

I said probably not....right now at least! I'm not currently on as much as I used to be, that said, it doesn't mean I don't want to be! When I'm able to spend more time on here I will think about it then. Hellobee has been SO helpful through my pregnancy and still with my 6 month old Lo!

Yes. My main motivation is actually to support Mr. and Mrs. Bee for the work they do to provide a valuable resource.

I might...$25 isn't that much to spend. I would be nice to share pictures & ask personal questions without worrying about creepers (or worse, people that I know in real life!)" finding" me.

@anonysquire: Agree! I mean once you are a gold member, and you create a topic, would you automatiically choose gold, because well you paid for the membership so you might as well get your use out of it. Or do you choose for it to be posted public to get more responses. hmmm...decisions

Hm. Will there ever be anymore features to it? If so, I will. But the privacy alone isn't selling me. Also, is there a way to tell who is a member?

And to the people saying they are gifting people gold memberships.... thats cool and all but why do you need to tell everyone? If you are going to gift it to someone why not just tell that person instead of making it like throwing bait into a fish tank.

@anonysquire: Instead of thinking of it as "secret club"-ish, I think the selling point is the fact that you get more privacy! I think one would post to the public boards but when posting about something really TMI or sensitive, one would have the really private option of posting to Gold.

@mrbee: If there was just a place to donate money to the site I would be more willing to do that. But already I am seeing many of the people I keep up with not wanting to get gold memberships and I value their input. Thanks for monitoring.

I voted yes. I love this site and I want to help support it. I also like the idea of posting a topic for more privacy so I don't have to worry so much of someone IRL reading it. DH for sure would tell me no... but my paypal is linked to my personal checking acct so he doesn't have to know. lol

I would to show my support for Mr. and Mrs. Bee and all they've done to keep the site as wonderful as it is. There's nothing like this out there and they've worked so hard to maintain it!

Absolutely, for the amount of time I spend on here each day, I will happily support Mr. & Mrs. Bee! I have gained so much from this site!

I probably would but not right away. Especially with the talk of private messaging.

@DigAPony: I'm surprised that you say "more" cliquey. Do you think HB is cliquey now? I don't feel that way at all...
