I haven't been to ikea since M was born and I can't remember whether they have standard grocery-type carts with an area to sit. I could probably get by with a stroller but I thought maybe one of you ladies had done this recently.

ours has "strollers" that you can use in the showroom area (basically a shopping cart without the basket part, there's a place to hang a big yellow ikea bag) and shopping carts in the marketplace.

The carts are usually located on the first floor where you make your purchases. I've seen people bring the carts upstairs to the showroom and push them around with kids.

FYI they also have a great baby-friendly restaurant. They sell yogurt, baby food (I think just pureed pears), juice, milk, bread, etc. and they have plenty of high chairs and even a TV usually playing a Disney movie. It's usually Finding Nemo. Can you tell we're there all the time??

@MrsF: yes! DD hates being in the stroller at IKEA but I think she would love to sit in a cart.
