It does bother me a little but I'm glad she has fun picking her clothes, shoes and accessories. She can wear whatever she wants to daycare but we pick outfits for special occasions.
Our parents get really mad about LO's clothes....they think we are too soft and we need insist on outfits that match.

My 5 yr old always tells me that his teacher says "clothes don't have to match!"

Yeah, it bothers me, I will admit. I won't buy a top unless it matches at least two pairs of bottoms, for example.

I actually hate matchy matchy clothes, which is why I hate Carter's sets and the like. I prefer a more boho/shabby aesthetic, so I'll be interested to see how he picks clothes as he gets older!

I am still dressing her but shoes drive me crazy. So hard to find plain colored shoes to wear with everything.

I try to make sure he sort of matches in the morning. I have blue, black, brown pants and complimentary shirts for him. Most mornings I can pull together an outfit for him with those colors.

For the most part I'm still dressing her, she does pick out her socks though 
I can see in the very near future her wantign to pick her own clothes, as we've ran into it a couple times. No more leaving clean laundry in a basket, otherwise she picks the top two things and throws a fit if we don't let her wear them.

It does! I have two boys so it's not that hard. My husband always puts them in clothes that don't belong together, especially their PJs. Drives me bonkers!

It drives me crazy, but that's because DH is the one putting her in mismatched clothes! I plan on keeping my opinions to myself when LO starts doing it.

It bugs me if she doesn't match because DH has dressed her. If she's mismatched because she's picked it out then I think, like, aww, that's cute. LOL!

@Smurfette: @mediagirl: yes! This is a huge pet peeve of mine. I can never have LO in shoes that match her outfits because all toddler girl shoes have pink in them!

I find it kind of charming actually. I'm with you, for special events we pick it out, but day to day or for daycare, I say go for it. She picked her faux fur zebra coat yesterday to wear grocery shopping, I just went with it.

No, doesn't bother me. But, I do tend to purposely get him neutral pants so that it doesn't end up too horrible on him.
My mother was always very meticulous and worried about how I was dressed growing up, and I remember thinking how annoying that is. Even now, she will comment once in a while, when DS is wearing his favorite ugly green pants. But, I don't care, as long as he's happy with it. If he gets comments from kids at school, I'm sure he'll adjust his clothes so that he looks more the way he thinks he should.

@erwoo: @autumnlove: DS only wears matched pjs when they're new. Once the novelty wears off, it's whatever shirt with whatever pants.

DH can't match DS's clothes to save his life, so I always get a giggle when I see what DS is dressed in when I pick him up.
