We just ordered this tuxedo for LO (upcoming holiday) and I am trying to figure out what shoes he should wear with it.
I did order these Gymboree, black loafers...but now I am thinking he needs socks with the shoes, and lo doesn't have trouser socks.
Could he skip the shoes all-together and just do some trumpette socks?
I suggest this because, his shoes always fall off or get taken off (ahem, thanks son) and lost.
Should we do the shoes with some Trumpettes underneath?

@regberadaisy: almost 10m. It is our big holiday (Muslims) and we get ALL DECKED OUT 
He isn't even crawling yet so, I know he won't be standing in 7 weeks (aug 8th). He may be crawling at the most, which is kind of why I think we may get away with just socks?

Nice! I love the idea of the socks, and I voted for #2. It looks like option #1 is more of an ankle sock and if he's being held, it might be best to have a higher sock.

I guess it's leaning towards socks. The socks are triple the price of the shoes! Oh well....it's once a year.

I think maybe you should decide after you see the outfit on him. My first inclination is to say that it's a REALLY dress outfit, and so socks and shoes would be most appropriate. But I'm not a mom yet, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

@MrsCB: I think the same. It is so dressy that, only shoes will do. Right? WRONG. These kids take their shoes off the second that they are on, and chew on them and throw them. Ugh....I have lost so many singles of shoes and now, I don't have pairs. So, since he isn't walking...I am *considering* the socks. But yeah, obviously the best option would be shoes...if he wasn't a little monkey.

I voted for the second style of sock. let's be real here... those shoes will last all of one second, so you might as well go with the socks. What about just plain black socks?

@mrskc: do you know where I could find those? I've seen white & navy....I literally can't find black socks. Those would solve all my issues.

@TurtleDoves: def just socks! Check Marshalls/TJ Maxx etc bc you can find "shoe" socks that are not Trumpettes MUCH cheaper!

my initial thought was, omg I die - at those shoes. I can't even. so. cute.
then I remembered how Olivia won't keep shoes on, never mind socks, so...practically speaking, I'd go with the socks. but really..if he's going to take socks AND shoes off and fling them, you might be better off saving money and getting plain socks and the shoes?

@TurtleDoves: Have you tried zappos or Nordstrom? I believe they both carry trumpettes.
