Well, he did this year And since my girl chose a very unfeminine costume this year, there's a good chance he will get that in a year or so too. But once he is three, I will let him pick his own, just like his sister gets to.

Do your kids have similar birthdays? I couldn't do this even if I wanted to because my oldest was wearing 6m stuff his first Halloween and 2T stuff the second. My youngest was in newborn stuff last year and 12 month this year, so no sizing overlap for Halloween. I don't think I'd do this anyways though because I like to have them in coordinating costumes while they're still young enough for me to get away with that!

Kinda, she wears LO 1's handmedowns for Halloween parties, themed story times and preschool but she is wearing a new costume tomorrow night.

We have a bagful of hand me down costumes from dh's bff. Ds2 is wearing one of those costumes that actually never fit ds1 when he was a baby.

I think it's cute when sibs are all the same thing for their first Halloween.

@looch: me too! DS was a pumpkin for his first Halloween so we plan on each kid to wear that costume for their first Halloween too.

My kids are opposite gender but we're using a hand me down costume this year and I would imagine we will next year. So that's a duck for an almost 1 year old and a dinosaur for an almost 2 year old. LO1 is dressing as Abby from Sesame St this year and I'm assuming that her little brother won't want that one. 3yo seems like when they get more opinionated about these things anyway!

Yep at least the first year! Hopefully next year too since DS2 is a bit bigger and they are off in seasons (DS1 was 2.5 at Halloween and DS2 will be shy of 2). After that I'm sure that he will be asking to be something specific.

I matched them this year...They were both unicorns, the same costume from PBK and it was adorable. LO1's costume from her first Halloween would have been too big anyway...
