My LO is 4 months old and has always been a bad napper but a great night sleeper (this last month aside, we've been dealing with the 4month regression). Even though she gets 12-13 hours at night, 11.5-12.5 with wakings, she seems overtired all day.

She gets fussy after being up as little as 40mins sometimes, some days shows tired cues within minutes of waking from a nap at times and becomes less social and focused probably halfway through her awake time. Usually her awake time is 1.5-2hrs.

Her naps sometimes last up to 1.5hrs but never consistently, when they do its often because I've rocked her back down after her first cycle. On a typical day I might one long nap about and two 30-40 minute naps or some days 4 short naps.

Do you think to help her stay more happy and focused during the day I should transition some of her sleep from night to naps? Or just add naps/stretch her existing naps to her current length of night time sleep?
