I think most things are negotiable so seeing non negotiable means very little to me! It never hurts to ask!

I hate all the negotiation that happens in western culture! People start off with ridiculous offers then negotiate from there... exhausting.

I don't like to haggle for things, except those where haggling is expected - like car buying (then it's fun!). When I'm selling something online and put in "non-negotiable" or "firm price" and someone starts the haggling process I won't sell to them on principle.

@mrbee: I think it's funny that you consider that a Western culture thing.
I experienced WAY more crazy haggling in Eastern Europe and the Middle East than Western Europe or the USA. I think it's quite tame here. -
@mrbee: it's even more exhausting in Asia, where you're expected to haggle over everything. It was fun when we first moved to Asia but now, it's just annoying.

If the price isn't right, I usually won't even bother if someone says it's non negotiable.
