@autumnlove: I believe in making one fair offer, no haggling!
I hate all the negotiation that happens in western culture! People start off with ridiculous offers then negotiate from there... exhausting.

I don't like to haggle for things, except those where haggling is expected - like car buying (then it's fun!). When I'm selling something online and put in "non-negotiable" or "firm price" and someone starts the haggling process I won't sell to them on principle.

@mrbee: I think it's funny that you consider that a Western culture thing.
I experienced WAY more crazy haggling in Eastern Europe and the Middle East than Western Europe or the USA. I think it's quite tame here.

@mrbee: it's even more exhausting in Asia, where you're expected to haggle over everything. It was fun when we first moved to Asia but now, it's just annoying.
