My weird kid scratches the mattress! When she's first putting herself to sleep she will alternate between rubbing her blankie on her face & scratching the mattress. Then, through-out the night whenever she wakes up, she will scratch her mattress until she falls back asleep. Sometimes I'll wake up in the middle of the night and hear little "scratch,scratch,scratch" on the monitor. It always makes me laugh.

O pulls and/or twists her hair, lol. So does my husband and his nephew!

My LO scratches the mattress too! She also rubs/pulls on her ears.

@MamaMoose: I'm glad she's not the only mattress scratcher. I thought that was totally weird, but maybe she's a little bit normal after all!

She puts her hands over her eyes/bridge of her nose and presses really hard into the bridge of her nose.
She also scratches the back of her neck. I'm always nervous she has a bug bite or something, but it's always just her own little weirdo soothing technique

@sorrycharlie: @MamaMoose: My LO pulls her hair, tugs her ear(s), and scratches whatever is closest (back of glider, couch, mattress, etc.). I thought she was the only one who pulled her own hair!

she buries her face into the mattress and rubs her head back and forth. she also punches herself in the eyes lol and rubs her lovey over her eyes

M doesn't have any hair but she pulls mine repeatedly while she's eating and it seems to soothe her (me, not so much).

@MamaMoose: @photojane: @MsLipGloss: the LO I nanny scratched the crib mattress when she was a baby so much that it took us awhile to figure out her nails were always dirty from the colored sheets!! it looked like dirt under there. lol.
O scratches things but not to that extent. or maybe i have heavy duty sheets..lol.
