M hates it so much. I do put him on my shoulder a lot to compensate but just putting him on his tummy on the floor makes him angry. He panics and doesn't turn his head to the side.
I know eventually he'll get it. His ped really streases tummy time so I feel a little guilty he's not getting the recommended amount. I'll go a couple days sometimes without doing it. Maybe if I made it more routine he'd like it more?

Xander hated tummy time until he was about 7 months and finally mastered rolling!!! And we didn't do every day either because I hated listening to him cry!
I wouldn't really worry about it too much. Try to do it once a day, but don't stress about it!

S hated tummy time too until he was a lot older. My cousin gave me a tummy time mat that had some fun lights and sounds and that's what started him enjoying it. He couldn't get over the lion roaring at him!
Unless M is starting to get a super flat head, I wouldn't worry too much about it!

R was ok with it for 10-15 mins at a time. I usually would lay on the floor in front of her. I think that helped.

C hated it so so much until she could roll herself. I read one recommendation to turn them on their tummies on the changing pad after every diaper change, so they get a minute here and there throughout the day. It did work until I thought about how her little face was where the poop just was...
I wore her in the moby a ton and she had good head control from that so I tried not to worry too much. She never got a flat spot and has good upper body control and crawls like a champ now so I guess I didn't do any permanent damage.
@Smurfette: 10-15 minutes! I would shout from the rooftops if we got five before the screams.

@Dandelion: I used to have to pick Xander up after tummy time and snuggle him until he calmed down!! He was hysterical about tummy time and just rolling him over wasn't enough!

She hated hated hated it... I never got even close to the recommended time and she started to develop a flat spot (I freaked!!)
But once she hit 5 months and could roll herself, the ONLY place she wanted to be was on her belly. She is rarely on her back now! Her flat spot is getting much better with time too.

Mine did! I would try every day but pick him up if he was unhappy about it. We did tummy time on us instead. He was walking at 9 months, so i figure he developed just fine

She's almost 9mths and still hates it if she ends up on her tummy and can't get back...but she does sleep on her tummy sometimes and doesn't seem to have a problem with it at night!

Mine hated it too, now he can escape by rolling over he's more chill about it. I found if I laid down on the floor facing him and talked to him etc it would help him stay there a bit longer, but still only 2-3 mins tops til around 5 months.

She's not a huge fan but yesterday we did have a successful 3-4 minute stretch (our longest yet). She great about head control on our chests so we just try to do that more.

Mine did! And she did end up with a flat head but the neurologist said it was a genetic thing that the helmet wouldn't fix.
She also learned to role tummy to back sometime in her second month. Hated tummy time.
One thing that did help a little was one of those tummy time pillows or a rolled up towel.

C desperately hated it and had a really hard time with it. He also has a head that is >98%, so head control took him a very long time.
E is cool with it for a good while, he starts to fuss after a lot longer than I expected, but his head is around 50% and he has much better head control.

LO hated it for ages. I couldn't get her anywhere near the recommended daily amount. She liked it more once we got a floor mirror for her. I basically wrote her non stop for the first three months because she was so fussy so I didn't worry too much about her getting a flat head and ended up being a bit lax about tummy time.

DS is 6 weeks and he hates it as well! Sometimes he bawls his head off while trying to push up, which I suppose is productive. Other times he just lays there lazily and refuses to make an effort at all.

Oh yeah. C hated tummy time. It was a sure way to a huge meltdown. I just didnt stress it. She's fine. I dont think it really hurt her any not to do it.

Yep, so we pretty much didn't do it. I am not a believer in tummy time. We do baby wear a lot though so that strengthens the same muscles but through a more enjoyable means! It didn't delay her meeting any of her milestones.
