My lo gets SO distracted if I start talking while she is eating. I have to sit quietly and maybe whisper if I want to tell someone something. If I start a conversation, she pops off and looks at me as if to say, "why don't I have your full attention??"
Does anyone else's lo do this?

No but at 11w he is starting to turn his head and look whenever anyone walks by or says something to me. It wouldn't be too big of a problem except he doesn't pop off-ouch.

yep, at 4 months they are so easily distracted. we can't really talk while feeding them or trying to get them to sleep. but they react more when i am talking to them, so i like that part of the equation

Nope. Not a single person can say a single word. I pretty much have to shhhhh everyone so that she van eat.

lol! O is only 8.5 weeks, but she's started giggling at me while she's eating. I'll notice she isn't sucking or swallowing so I'll look down, and she'll be peeking up at me with a grin on her face as if waiting for me to notice her! then she'll giggle and keep doing it. suck, swallow, grin giggle! it cracks me up. then when I start laughing she hams it up even more!
btw, her giggle totally sounds like peter griffin. heh heh heh..

Mine is 4 months and doesn't distract easily. I think he just LOVES to eat (like his mama!). Every time I hold him he starts acting like he wants to nurse...drives me a little nuts, actually.

We had to work on getting her to stop putting her hands in my mouth while nursing!

LOL - DD was like that. I had to sit in a quiet, dark room, with no distractions otherwise she would constantly pop off and try to see what was going on.

I can only talk if she's super sleepy. If I talk or DH or the nanny talk, she pulls off and stares at me or the other person. And sometimes she just tries to sit up and join in the conversation!

All the time. It's even worse if DH or my parents talk. It's like she wants to be part of the conversation.

When she was younger (under a year) she would insist on quiet. Now she's more easygoing!

No, she is completely undeterred by talking and other activity around us when she feeds. That's cute (and probably frustrating) that your LO wants your full attention!

If I talk too loudly whilst DD is feeding, she pulls off and gives me the most disapproving look! Seriously, she's going to be a teacher when she grows up, I'm convinced of it - she's got the look down pat already! Once I look at her though, she starts smiling at me, milk dribbling down her cheek and all, and then the rest of the feed is a mix of eating, smiling, and laughing.
Oh, and if she hears her Daddy's voice whilst feeding, forget about it. She spends the rest of the time trying to look at him...whilst still holding on to the food source, ouch!

The first 3-4 months I could talk while nursing but as she got older, my talking distracted her so I'd have to be quiet.

Yes, between 4-6 months he would distract so easily. I couldn't laugh at the TV without him breaking suction and giving me a dirty look. Other times he will shove his hand in my mouth- I swear it is to keep me quiet.
