Wow. That's all I have to say about how stinky my baby's poops are. I thought breastfed babies poops didn't smell bad? Could this be a reaction to a food source that is causing it?

My mspi sons EBF poop smelled horrible. Like a sweet acidly stink. It reminds me of how people feel when the vacuum motor starts on fire. Just absolutely horrible.
I don't know how normal poop smells cause we never had it.

In the first few months they weren't overly offensive but now at 5 months they are awful!! As bad as my dog's!!

I don't think it smells bad at all. He does have extremely stinky gas though.

It smells, but not as bad as it will smell when they're on solids! But everyone told me, "Oh her poop won't smell." Um, no. It definitely smells. She was napping on me yesterday and pooped. I didn't want to wake her up so I had to sit for 2 hours smelling it.

I used to think it was bad, but it is nothing compared to what it smells like when they eat a lot of solids, sorry to say.

Yes! I think it's what I eat. I find that if I eat food with garlic it smells especially bad. I'm sure if I ate all organic and all veggies his poop wouldn't smell at all. LOL! But I eat all kinds of food.

So, so bad! She can clear a room. I asked the doctor about her foul smelling dirty diapers and he said her body is just getting use to bacteria. But seriously, DH gags every time she poo's!

looking back, it smelled but didn't smell bad. not as bad as it does now after solids! (gag!)

I mean, it still smells like poo to me! Sometimes smells like rotton eggs. Ew!

Definitely smells like rotten eggs or sulfur! Wagon Jr. 's breastmilk poos didn't smell at all so this was a shock!

@mrs. wagon: same here!!! DS's didn't stink when he was a baby but DD's diapers are terrible. Exactly how you described "sulfur"...to make matters worse she's a gassy baby so every 15 minutes or so she stinks
I thought she could have been negatively Uresponding to the dairy or sugar in my diet? I'm not sure.

When DS was breastfed, his poop was stinky! I never understood the "sweet smell" comments. We never had "sweet" smelling poop! It definitely wasn't as stinky or as unpredictable as his formula poop though!
