We just got an email stating that the daycare did a lockdown drill today at the center. It's the first time they have done this -it's it's part of the new emergency preparedness plan at the center.
Does your daycare do emergency preparedness drills?

Yup. Lockdown drills, fire drills, tornado drills are all part of the plan.

I haven't heard of them doing drills, but we were asked to prepare an emergency bag.

I know they've done fire drills, and I think maybe others? The school has a k-8 program as well as grad school in the same building

My LO goes to daycare on a university campus so they do lockdown drill and fire drills and two types of evacuations.

Yes, we got a note earlier this year that they're required to now. I'm happy they're being pre-emptive but sad this is the world we live in. There is also a posted no firearms allowed note at the front door. Why anyone needs to bring one into a daycare center is beyond me.

Our school is having a fire drill next week.

Yes! They posted a pic of the cribs in the parking lot during one drill. Apparently, they put two babies in each crib to wheel everyone out.
