When my dog was younger she would eat her stuffed animals - she pooped colorful string and fluffy cotton

Can it fit in their mouth? Then yes.....they like it!
I have labs, and they are notorious for eating anything and everything.

My cocker spaniel loves used tissues. Gross!

We had a dog who used to swallow whole socks and underwear. He actually ended up dying from it at only a year old
@mamimami: One of our dogs does that, too! I can't leave anything in the little potty for a second because she'll come in and eat it (gag). She also sometimes eats her own poop (more gagging).

@mrs. tictactoe: So sorry! What kind of dog?

He's a puppy so he will eat pretty much anything. Tissues, paper towels, his own poop...which I found a pencil eraser in the other day...
We've been lucky so far though, he hasn't eaten or tried to eat any of our clothing!

Nope. Our dog is really good about that. Even if there is food inside a bag, he won't eat it because of the bag.
My cat, on the other hand........

@autumnlove: he was a mutt. When we adopted him as a tiny puppy, they called him a shepard mix, but I suspect he was pit bull, lab, and something else.

Cigarette butts, it's disgusting. We joke that he thinks he is on neighborhood clean up duty. I keep threatening to sit outside the local bar/restaurant and report the litterers to the police.

Nope; my dog is so picky I never worry about her eating non-food items... She even rejects a lot of actual food!

Oh yes. They're both a lot better about it now, but tissues are always in some amount of danger in the wastebasket. Our retriever has consumed, among many other things, four pairs of eyeglasses (two entirely, two partially). DH and I gave up on replacing them and now just wear mangled glasses.
Another memorable incident involved the dog consuming half of a $100 bill.
I still get comments from TSA regarding the divot in my driver's license from a wallet-gnawing incident years ago.

Mine used to love paper. Toilet paper, napkins, a piece of paper, photos, you name it.
