I've been browsing our libraries site for e-books and there are some pretty good ones, but not as many as I thought there would be. I just borrowed Gone Girl so that I have something to read when my Kindle arrives on Saturday. How is the selection of e-books at your library?

It's decent but the wait is insane for some of the popular books.

There's a good selection, but fairly long wait list for popular titles. They try to stock a bunch of copies of those, though, so I think the longest I've ever waited was about two weeks.

Ours is amazing! I literally never buy books for my kindle. Have you looked at "inter library loan" even for e-books? That might help boost the number of good books available.

Its where your library can borrow books from other libraries in the area and make them available for you. I.e. I live in Boston but the Newton library has the e-book I want so the Boston library "borrows" it for me from Newton then I check it out from the Boston library... I know they do it with physical books and I think they are starting to do it with e-books too.
Another thing to consider is getting Amazon Prime so you can use the kindle owners lending library, where you borrow one book per month from another kindle owner. The cost of the books pretty much covers the membership if you read more than 5-6 books per year.
