Our (almost) 4-year-old calls my friends by their first name. I've been wondering if instead, we should encourage him to call them "Uncle Firstname" or "Aunt Firstname". Or alternatively, "Mr. Firstname" or "Mrs. Firstname".
I don't love either option though... I guess the only reason I've considered them is that it feels weird to me to have toddlers address adults by their first name! In the grand scheme of life none of this really matters, but I thought I'd ask how you guys handle friends' names and your LO.
Does your LO call your friends "uncle/aunt"? Mr./Mrs.? Something else entirely?
growing up I never had that!
this baby girl like no other and babysit her all the time. Baby girl obviously adores me, but I'm not her auntie. There was one time at a pool party where baby girl's own mom referred to me as "Mama K" when she was telling another friend how often I watch baby girl. I cringed. Our friends are phenomenal parents and I don't want anyone to think otherwise.
