My LOs don't get any right now at daycare. I think they get a little bit (occasional movies...I'm not really sure?) when they move up to the 4 year old room.

Nope! At least, I don't think so haha... I'll have to ask the kids!

No, I wouldn't be all that thrilled...I pay too much money for them to sit in front of a screen!

No BUT, I know my friend's 5 year old is in Kindergarten and they watch tv after lunch time. I know we don't pay for it but that still bothers me.

Today was the first day tv showed there. LO gets very little at home, so he was entranced by it.

@mrs. bird: yes, it is a public school and she says it is a pbs cartoon like dinosaur train or super why but still if I wanted him to watch tv it would be at home.

Our Friday sitter turns the tv on sometimes. But since E shows zero interest in it at home (and I'm pretty sure she doesn't understand Jeopardy), I'm unconcerned.

Not that I am aware of. I have made it pretty clear that we are not ok with that (he is with a caregiver in her home) and I just hope that she respects our wishes. We don't do TV with him at home yet so I would be very upset if it's going on there.

@mrbee: kids don't lie!
I saw some permission forms for a penguin movie for the 4 year class!

No TV, but I saw a computer in the preschool room and kids play video games. I assume the games were somewhat educational, but I still wasn't too thrilled about seeing it for 3 year olds.

Our daycare has an iPad that the kids can use sometimes. Its not often around. Sometimes the toddlers will read a "book" on it (teacher holding it for the class) and sometimes the other kids get to play games on it during down time. I do think the daycare has a TV on a cart that they do use occasionally in the summer or on rainy days but its not frequent at all.

I don't even think they have a TV or anything like that in the building, so nope!

Nope and we've asked our nanny not to turn it on when he's at home either. She turns the music on through the I-Pad usually.

Yup! I've picked up DS a few times and the toddlers are watching Thomas the Train or some movie/show. DS is 6 months, but he will sit with the older kids sometimes. I somewhat cringe at the fact they do, but I don't know their full curriculum so I can't critique fully.

No, I would be nervous if she did. There are no TV's in her daycare, I'm not sure if there are computers.
We toured a daycare once that was all about these "smart" boards they had. The director was obviously disappointed she wasn't able to use them for teaching more often than she did (due to state regulations on screen time).
