I've been tempted to get M the younger version of Highlights magazine. Does your child get this magazine - I think it's called High Five? (too lazy to google). Is it entertaining/do they look forward to getting it?

We don't get that one, but both of my sons love the Nat Geo Kids magazine. That snowballed into a Nat Geo reader phase that is still going strong (when they aren't obsessing over Pokemon). And my stepfather showed my son the Nat Geo channel on TV while visiting and truly blew his mind, ha.

We get Hello which is the youngest version of highlights and we enjoy it. Some months are better than others and it's not cheap for a ten page booklet but my daughter loves it. She's mesmerized a bunch of the poems and songs and they are perfect for the car and restaurants. She's 2 Ave started getting it right after her first bother. We are in a sweet spot right now where it's exactly the right level for her.

We get National Geographic Kids but I've been pretty disappointed with it. I thought it would be more like the real magazine. My son is barely interested in it so we won't resubscribe.
We also get two different French story subscriptions and my kids love those.

My DD got High Five for a while when she was younger. She liked it ok. We did read the stories together. She also got Cricket (she liked it ok) and Spider (does not like it at all). The last two are very high quality magazines and I have no idea why she didn't like it. My DS gets a Thomas magazine and he loves it and does all of the activities.

My inlaws just got DS1 a gift subscription for High 5. We haven't gotten it yet but I am hoping he likes it.

We got hello and high five from highlights. My daughter (now 3.5) LOVES them. We just switched from high five to trying cricket because high five annoyed me. I like cricket more but I'm not sure if she does yet.
My mom gets them for us as a gift so I can really say if it's worth the cost...

My kids get High Five and regular Highlights. They love High Five. We've gotten it since DD1 turned one, and now at 3.5, she loves it and looks forward to getting it each month.
