We took a bet that gmail will still be around by the time Evan is emailing and reserved evancharlesmck*******@gmail.com and evancmck*********@gmail.com for him right after he was born. I send him emails and pictures, lol.

hahahaha. i never thought of that, but I'm not running to sign him up
And, lets be honest, his first email is going to be something like, amazingninja_2012 or something stupid. I know mine was - aqua_princess13!

I already grabbed LO's email address for her! I got firstname.lastname@gmail.com.

Yep, we reserved a gmail address for him and send him emails. DH sent him his first email two hours before he was born... What he wrote is so sweet!

I did and am so glad! Emailing her pictures, videos and updates is so much easier than keeping up with her baby book which is still empty! Plus I also gave her email out to her aunts and uncles so they can email her from time to time

Nope. Our last name is super uncommon so I"m fairly sure it will be available when he wants it! Plus, who knows what sort of email he'll want to use. I do love the idea of emailing him stuff like pics and videos! Although I don't know if a boy will be as interested in it as a girl would be

I asked DH if he wanted to but he's a big tech nerd and insists that email won't be the same when she's old enough to use it (he even says communication may be so different that email won't exist). So she doesn't have one as of right now!

Lol that's funny, I never even thought to do something like that.

I think that's something my kids will want to set up for themselves. I felt so sophisticated and independent when I got my first email account!

Nope, when he's old enough, he'll set one up the old fashioned way like his parents did. Hopefully he won't be sending Internet crack like I did back in 1994 with the advent of the Internet's popularity. Yes, in high school, we sent each other Internet crack and floral bouquets.

I haven't set it up but his first.middleinitial.last@gmail is still available. He may want it in the future for correspondences when he is an adult. Might be too grown up for a teenager.

I think it's a great idea, actually. I think that everyone should have a formal email address for after they grow out of the "princess" and "skaterboi" phase. Nothing is stopping the children from creating their own when the time comes but it would be nice to already have their professional one available for when they need it.

Wow, I had never thought of this. I think it is adorable. They get to sign in and read all the love people have sent them growing up.

We have one for our daughter. My husband sends her little notes and I send her photos.
I will use her email address to collect RSVP for her upcoming red egg ginger party.
