Olive has an outie. She developed a huge umbilical hernia after she was born... it grew to the size of a golf ball! Apparently it's very common in preemies. But luckily it eventually shrunk within 4-5 months without surgery (which they do when kids are older if it doesn't shrink). Charlie has an innie.

Outie. It started as an innie, but then she got a hernia and now it's a outie, but only if she's eaten a lot (so most of the time).

It's pretty much an outie. He has a little cyst-like lump on it that the doctor said is just cosmetic. He had an umbilical infection after birth and his cord didn't fall off for weeks and needed to be cauterized.

Both had umbilical hernias and both now have have outies.

@avivoca: same for my DD! If her tummy is empty, like when she first wakes up, it's pretty flat -- but it pops right out when she eats. It's much smaller than it used to be, though.

He has an inbetweenie, just like his dad. Technically an innie, but it's really, really, really shallow.

Outie I think...? But just because she's skinny with ridiculous baby abs lol. I think if she ever got an inch of chub on her stomach it might be an innie.

K is a natural outie, D has a big scar over his so he doesn't get much of a belly button! I think he's mostly an innie, but it's hard to tell.

I wonder if what LO has is an umbilical hernia. I've been wondering. Either that or it's a heck of an outie. I was planning to ask about it at her next appointment.
