I can count on my hand the number of times we have leaks or blow outs in the MOTN.
This morning I got R up and her pjs were soaked in the front. Went through her sheet and mattress pad cover. Poor girl. I can't believe she slept through it.

It doesn't happen often, but it definitely does happen sometimes! My guess is if he's eaten/drank too close to bedtime OR if he's in his overnight diaper too long!

Pampers Swaddlers- never
Target diapers-once
Costco diapers- lots!
Cloth diapers- a few times when the leg elastics were worn out.

So, so many!! Not quite as often now that we moved up a size, but she's long and skinny so nothing fits that well, including diapers.
pomegranate / 3858 posts
Every once in a while we go through a few days where she does, but then it stops. I haven't figured out why (other than when we're at the end of size of diapers and need to move up).

It really depends on the diapers!
Target and Pampers never seem to do it.
I also started giving him his last milk feed half hour before bed and then changing him RIGHT before I put him down. That seems to have helped.

We did before switching to nighttime diapers, now its rare but there have been a few occasions. I think it has to do with not making sure it's on just right and everything pointing where it should.

yep. we use target or luvs during the day but switched to pampers baby dry or cruisers at night and that helps. I don't think the cheaper diapers are as absorbent. I've also heard sizing up helps.
apricot / 491 posts
Only in BRU brand, but we've only done BRU, Target or Pampers diapers. We just avoid putting him in BRU diapers at night.
grapefruit / 4669 posts
We switched to nighttime diapers about a month ago because L started consistently peeing through her diaper by morning. Haven't had one of those leak yet, though! (note: we cloth diaper 75% of the time but not at night, she would for sure leak out of those!)
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
He used to all the time until we broke down and switched to overnight diapers. It's not as bad anymore - just on occasion.
pomelo / 5524 posts
When he has, I know it's time to size up a diaper. We usually do a size bigger for nighttime.
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
nope..not since switching back to pampers overnights! when she was in pampers swaddlers/cruisers she would rarely have a leak (mainly if she slept in a single position all night, or if the leg flap part was tucked in accidentally). target was getting dangerously close..she was wet every morning on her skin, where pampers have kept more pee in the diaper than on her skin!

On rare occasion we do. Our daughter is a super soaker overnight. We use Pampers night diapers, which are super extra absorbent. They're usually so full and heavy by the morning. I have no idea how we're ever going to potty train our daughter overnight!
grapefruit / 4235 posts
we do pampers overnights, in a size bigger. Only a few overnight leaks. Once I think I didn't take care to make sure things were pointed in the right direction, if you know what I mean.

Not since she was a newborn. In fact, most mornings now she wakes up dry. FX this makes for easier PT.

We had this problem until we sized up and got overnight diapers. When the leaks keep coming, I size up the diapers. Pampers Swaddlers have been great for no leaks.
honeydew / 7283 posts
Sometimes she wakes up a little damp even in pampers overnights. I'm not really sure whet else I can do to prevent it!
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
She has had maybe 2 leaks in almost two years. So nope! E gets changed a lot at night still so I won't vote for her just yet.
blogger / grapefruit / 4836 posts
Only if he sleeps in a really weird position. Almost never. More often in disposable than in cloth.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
This is with an overnight diaper!! Size 4's are still huge on her, so I don't think we can go up but I will if it happens again. I honestly think her last leak was when she was 6 months old.
admin / watermelon / 14210 posts
we've never had problems and sometimes the diapers are so huge they look like they're going to explode! huggies overnights really work!
pomegranate / 3329 posts
A lot now that she is in pull-ups I'm constantly washing her sheets. Although the past two nights she's been dry, and I probably just jinxed that
persimmon / 1153 posts
Aww! We use Huggies overnights and hardly have issues. She pees a ton at night or right before waking up. Before we used Huggies though, she would leak in the Target diapers and it drove me nuts.
pomegranate / 3895 posts
It started happening a lot when she was 8 or 9 months, so we switched to overnight diapers at night (obviously!) and no issues since then. She's in size 4s and we get Huggies or Pampers...whatever's on sale.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@emg86: @heartonastring: These were Huggies. I am hoping it was just a one time fluke thing.
watermelon / 14467 posts
Only with a fitted diaper or with her Applecheeks cover. I still haven't figured out how to keep the legs from leaking.
pomegranate / 3863 posts
All the damn time. AND we use pampers overnights and sized up. I guess he just drinks a ton at night? I don't know. It's so frustrating to have his jammies wet more often than not in the morning. His diaper has been so full it has "exploded" overnight several times. Cleaning up all those pee beads is infuriating, lol.
I don't know what we are doing wrong...
nectarine / 2973 posts
She leaks out at night all the time!! I really need to try overnight diapers... We tried just moving a size up in seventh generations but it didn't help much.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@petunia354: those beads are the worse! I wonder if the issue last night was I didn't have it higher in the front then the back, since she sleeps on her belly. Would that work for you?
pomegranate / 3863 posts
@Smurfette: That could definitely be part of the problem! I also need to be better about trying to make sure his penis is pointed down, lol, if you know what I mean. Because having it pointed up + belly sleeping = pee disaster!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@petunia354: I would think that would be hard to remember with a boy!
grapefruit / 4066 posts
all the time! it is SO frustrating! she's also in overnights size 5, which is a size up from what she normally wears. It was happening so much a few weeks back that I started changing her diaper after she was already in bed, around 9/10pm when I went to bed, just so I wouldnt have to wake up to a pee soaked LO (she would sleep through the whole diaper change though)!
