We're not really fast food eaters so DD has only gotten a Happy Meal a few times. So she doesn't know "McDonald's" and has been calling it "Old MacDonald" like the song! I've just let it go and thought it was cute, but I finally corrected her the other day. She is 3.5 years old and I don't want her school friends to make fun of her if it came up!!

I don't think my kids know about fast food. We try to avoid it. Every time we go out to dinner, Lala calls it the "restaurant house".

I took my son to McD's a few times and he totally knows the logo. He totally used to call it Old McDonald, too! haha. And then he started calling it McDonald Duck. =\

Yes, but he doesn't like it so he never asks for it. His aunt is vegan and she's always scaring him out of eating fast food and APBs.
He was asking to go to Starbucks for awhile when he was 3 but that stopped. Now he just asks to go to certain restaurants.
E doesn't know about McDonald's but we did get Five Guys the other night and she kept asking for a fry in the back seat on our way home haha.

I don't plan on being proactive in introducing my daughter to fast food. She will eventually realize what it is and what is sold there.McDonald's is not a dining option for me or DH, so I'm pretty sure she won't get much exposure to it, at home.

I don't think so, but mine sure know and love Chick-fil-a. Since I have lived most of my life far from a chick-fil-a in my head it isn't fast food, which makes no sense. But, my kids love Chick-fil-a. And, DS (who is 20 months old) is VERY aware of Starbucks, because, well, frankly, I have a problem hahahaha

For the longest time when we would drive by McDonald's DD would shout out, "Look! M stands for Mommy!"

@MamaBehr: DS has requested chic fil a (by name) before, and he's just two! He's a big lemonade fan, I cut it with like three times as much water and he doesn't notice yet
he doesn't know the names of any other fast food or restaurants, or stores for that matter (just "grocery store", and target is "shopping").

Charlie has had it a couple of times but we don't have a car and we don't live near one, so he has no idea what it is yet!

I haven't eaten at McDonald's since I was in middle school and fast food makes me sick- my body rejects it. I don't plan on ever taking my child there- but I'm sure he'll pick it up. If he goes for a birthday party once or twice a year I suppose that's okay. If we get "fast food" it's places like panera or chipotle. He has had subway I think twice while we were out (he just ate cheese, meat and the veggies!).

Oh yes, he knows! The first few times he said it I was like, "What sweetie? You want to make donuts?" LOLZ. He couldn't care less about the food... I usually end up eating his food while be plays with the toy and/or in the playplace.
Sometimes he tells me he wants chicken nuggets and I tell him I can make some at home. And he's all, "No, the kind the señor gives you." (At the drive thru) Ha.
We don't go that much but I really can't complain about the coffee and the playplace on a Saturday morning, especially if I'm solo parenting.

Yes, sadly.LOL! My granddaddy had surgery and it was the only reasturant in the hospital. We ate there 2 times and she KNOWS what it is when she sees it. She loves the silly toys I think because all she ate was her fries.

LO has always called it A-donald's.
She knows it because we get pancakes and sausage from there when I have a lazy -but want to get out of the house- weekend morning.
