Charlie discovered superheroes on his own when he saw a picture of the Hulk in Entertainment Weekly and got obsessed when he was 3.
Olive knows some superheroes through Charlie, but she doesn't know what a princess is because we don't have anything princess! (She is 2).
Does your LO know what a superhero or princess are? Are they obsessed with them?

I dress him in Batman clothing, but he doesn't know superheroes or princesses. He doesn't even recognize Mickey Mouse.

I can't imagine she knows what they are, but LO loves Captain America! She's blah to all other superheroes but has a couple of Captain America toys/items she has spotted on her own at the store. At Disneyland, she was enthralled with the princesses who waved at her; but I think she only liked them because they waved and blew kisses at her. 
The characters she is obsessed with are Elmo (and Sesame Street characters in general), Winnie the Pooh and baby dolls. She's 19 months.

She's only 14 months but I plan not to introduce her to princess stuff at all. Some people have bought her princess things but I won't give them to her for a fair few years yet.

Yes. She can name the Disney princesses thanks to a bunch of $1 target books. And she loves crowns

I don't think so. We went to a super hero party about a year ago and she dressed up, but she had no idea what was going on, just that she got to wear a pretty tutu. She is very picky about what she watches on tv and won't watch any disney movies yet, so she hasn't really seen any princess things.

Yes, she isn't obsessed with either though. Sometimes she's a superhero when she pretends (just a generic one I guess,lol) but princesses, she'll be Tiana or Ariel since she has those toddler dolls.

She's not aware yet, but I'm sure she will be aware of Marvel characters soon. She wore her first Captain America onesie at like right days old.

My son knows what princesses are, as in he could identify a few, but he has no idea about superheroes.
