My LO is 3.5 and is obsessed with helping me in the kitchen! From toast or a bagel to baking cookies, or prepping dinner. It does make it a bit harder at times when I'm in a rush but I try my best to give her a little job so she can help out. Only down side is she insists on sitting on the counter because her stool doesn't get her up high enough, so I have to try and work around her. I think we are going to bake some cookies in a bit, actually!
