Charlie likes to follow us around the house and offer to help with everything!
I want to encourage that, b/c my secret plan is to have him "help" me do the dishes more and more until one day he is doing them by himself!

She just helped me unload the dishwasher.
She picks up her toys for me and if I give her a wipe, she'll wipe down the floors. haha

We very much encourage life skills as part of our Montessori household, so the girls have access to a broom and dustpan as well as rags . Even M. can be found using a rag to swipe the floor in imitation of us. I think kids love this stuff!

They love helping out. They really enjoy hanging out in the kitchen while I prep food; loading/unloading laundry and dishes; and small cleanups.

He's only 12 months, but of course he like to pretend he is helping when in reality it creates a bigger mess, but whatever.

DD loves to help clean up and wipe tables and fold laundry. DS just likes to make a mess but I'm trying to encourage cleaning up!

LO is 16 months and we call her "big helper" a lot to encourage this. She will help us take the trash to the dumpster and empty the recycling (she carries a small portion), helps me unload the dishwasher, helps me put our breakfast in the toaster oven, helps unload the dryer. She is soo proud of herself when she does it!

Like @MamaCate my 16 month old loves to help out - he helps put the laundry in the hamper, he brings his dishes to the sink, he puts away his shoes and toys.
He really loves to try to do everything on his own, so if I can encourage him to help out with things around the house, why not, right?

Yes, she wants to do it all!! Yesterday, she was helping me sweep the floor... because of a mess SHE made! And if I try to help her put her toys away, she insists that she does it. I try to encourage it as much I can, and really like seeing her so involved with helping out. I'm sure I can use it to my advantage one day.
