The YMCA seems to be a BIG part of after school and track out activities around here. Does or will your lo participate in activities through the YMCA? If they do, do you have to be a member for them to do the activities or can you sign them up for after school or track out without being a member?

We were members and did some classes, then we let out membership lapse, we will probably get a membership again in the future as they run the best summer day camps and stuff!

We've done soccer there. We weren't members and could still sign up.

Xander's taken swimming lessons and gymnastics at the Y. I'm not a member myself, but he has his own membership ($15.95/month for a youth membership). I can still participate in all the parent & me classes with him without having a membership myself, which is awesome! And guest passes are only $5, so if we are just going to play, he's the member and I'm his guest, which is awesome.

Maybe you can do some activities without? But I am pretty sure we had to buy the youth membership for swimming. Swimming is insanely popular here so maybe that is why?!?

She has done swimming and I'm planning on signing her up for some other classes in the summer but right now they conflict with her afternoon preschool times. We are members.
