These are LO's favorite words right now. Unfortunately, she used it loudly and in the correct context at Costco after she tried a sample of a chocolate spinach smoothie! Yucky! Yuck! Yucky!!!

She is 10 months old and her second word was "yuck" she spit out her food and said "yuck" after eating some baby back ribs! she wasn't a fan obviously!

haha!
O says, "num num" for everything she eats. But, she generally loves anything she eats, so..
She'll cry or babble at her food if she doesn't want it.

@Andrea: OMG, it was a Vitamix blender demo and the lady made chocolate "ice cream" that was more of a smoothie....it was gross!

@autumnlove: It really is an incredibly useful book for kids!! I was skeptical, but now I'm a convert!!!

We don't want DD saying the word yucky so we don't use it.
She does know yummy though.

@chopsuey: just out of pure nosiness/curiosity, how come?

@sorrycharlie: just don't want her calling things yucky. we never taught her the word "mine" either. she says "this is mine" in Korean.
I've heard lots of kids say certain words over and over again and they bug me. Wish I never taught her the word "no!" cause it drives me crazy when she says it all the time.

LO knows "yum" and points and says "yum yum" if she sees something she likes, or will say "yummmmmmmm" while she is eating if she really likes something.
She doesn't say "yucky" yet. I say "yucky" when I don't want her to mess with something (food, and otherwise) and she knows to leave that thing alone.
LO LOVES ice, so whenever she sees a drink she will point and say "ice! ice!"

Ha, ha, she's so cute!
He just says Mmmmmmm! num num num! when he's hungry or likes something. We've been trying to avoid negative words associated with food to avoid pickiness (in our dreams, right!), so at this point he just shakes his head no

@chopsuey: we are the same. We don't use those words around her. We purposely didn't teach no for that reason but used other words instead. I didn't want her screaming No.
LO says yummy in my tummy and 'ewwww'. Both not learned from me. I try to get her to say No thank you or Not for me or I don't like it.

@mrbee: I read the same book to LO when I spotted it at T.J. Maxx. He picked up the words right away and started using them at each meal. I wasn't a fan of him calling my food yucky though.
