My LO is a fair skinned girl. She obviously got her daddy's skin tone because I tan pretty easily. She burns and just burns. We have to be soooo diligent with sunscreen!

Thank heavens she tans because despite my ridiculous investment in a million different sunscreens she's allergic to all of them!

Tan for sure, thankful they got my skin. They always have sandal tans!

All of my kids are incredibly fair skinned just like me and burn easy. They are the kids that get lobster faces in March before daycare gets out the sunscreen!

My kids both tan, since they are half south Asian. They get SUPER brown in summer, even though I put on sunscreen daily. I burn really easily, though. Like--10 minutes in full sun and I'm burned. And then it doesn't turn into a nice tan, I just peel and freckle and it's all awful.

Lo1 tans, thank goodness! I burn and it sucks. Lo2 has extremely fair skin, like almost translucent, and I think she's going to burn like me-- I'm nervous about this summer since she's too young for sunscreen! When lo1 was a baby I think I kept her inside or in her stroller shaded most of her first summer, but w a toddler we're out and about so much more

All of us burn! The only tan anyone around here gets are freckles.

He tans! I'm so pale and burn easily but he got his father's darker skin tone.

He burns, both me and DH tan, but my SIL and FIL are fair skinned, so that's where he gets it.

@lamariniere: ha ha ha - that's what my husband says, too. His tan is his freckles.

Not sure! I keep her covered (with long sleeves, hats, sunscreen) so I've never seen a change in her skin color yet from the sun.

LO1 tans, she has my olive skin. LO2 will probably burn, she has a peaches and cream complexion.

Both my kids are very fair-skinned, so I assume they would burn, but we're really rigorous with the sunscreen, so we haven't had to deal with any burns yet!

Not sure yet because we've been vigilant about putting sunscreen on her. She's very fair skinned (as are DH and I) but DH burns and I tan. Could go either way!

My DD definitely inherited my fair skin. If I go out in the sun for ten minutes I'll definitely get burned. She's the same! I have to be super vigilant with sunscreen because she just burns so quickly! I'm always on the lookout for lightweight long sleeved shirts for summer (we're in CA so summers can be brutal, like over 100 degrees). If I'm not super vigilant I end up freckled and peeling all summer. And I'm half Asian and the only one of my siblings not to inherit my father's Asian skin.
It's frustrating because we both have dark hair so people have always doubted that we are as fair as we are! All her cousins are blondes with blue eyes and they get way more tan than my daughter can.
I'm super strict with sunscreen because I have vivid memories of getting 1-2 bad burns every summer in spite of applying sunscreen.

My kids would give Snow White competition for her title of "fairest of them all." They both burn. We've been able to protect their skin well so far but I worry about when they are more independent or fashion conscious.
