Yes and I hate it! I love my (heh, MY) books to be crisp and clean. I compensate by letting her rip up my magazines.

Eeeek no! She has torn a page of this one really flimsy book that we have. Then she asks me for some tape to fix it. Haha, too funny.

Yes, she's banned from paper pages now (well that are left in her reach), only the cardboard ones remain on her shelf and she still manages to be pretty rough on them

Workman Publishing has invented a baby-proof book! I registered for a couple (less than $5 a book!) but can't find a link onilne to their website for them.
Here is their description: Published on the same paper-like material used in shipping envelopes, Indestructibles are 100% baby-proof: chew-proof, drool-proof, and rip-proof. That's because Indestructibles not only will not tear or turn gummy with teething, but they are also completely washable.

He has torn a couple of papers, but not on purpose (I think). He has started trying to tear the flaps in his "Where's Spot?" book, though. I've had to scotch tape a couple of them back in.

DS is only 16 months old now, so he is young for books with paper pages, but he has a favorite book that he won't put down. He's torn a few pages out of it, but thankfully most of his other books are board books. I figured we'd let him destroy it and replace it when he is a bit older. It's his favorite book, so I just let it go. I'm an avid reader and love books, so I was bummed when he tore pages out. But I guess it comes with the age.
