I have to really watch DS around trash cans lately. We let him throw his own diaper away in the diaper pail in his room. Well now I find things in there that don't belong. Usually little toys.
I have a little trashcan under my desk and he just tried to throw something away in there. ugh! I should probably go through our trash before I throw it out. Who knows what he's accidentally put in there that I didn't catch.
Anyone else's LO to this?

Yes! Usually snack bowls (she thinks they go into the garbage rather than the sink). She also threw away B's pre-k homework last weekend haha.

He went through a period where he would get kitchen utensils out of the dishwasher and throw them away.
He's much better about it now...he just throws away his diapers.

Yep! She started a phase of doing this about a month or so ago (she's 16 months). So far we've found shoes, car keys, toys, books, puzzle pieces, her clothes, dh's phone amongst other things in there. We have to keep a super close eye on her and now she does it but not quite as often thankfully.

For a while DS2 threw food in the sink ans bowls in the trash! Haha we lost a few bowls that way. I'm pretty sure he's put a few Sippy cups in the trash too...

Allll the time. We have lost so many toys because we've taken out the trash without realizing he put toys in there!

Our primary trashcan is in a drawer you have to pull out so this isn't a major problem. But I have found my brushes, hair dryer attachments, tampons and bandaids as well as picture frames and the remote in our bathroom trashcan.

when DS was like 2 we lived with my parents. I had some cash I needed to give my dad so I handed it to him and told him to "go give it to Papa." I assumed he'd walk across the house and deliver but instead he went into the kitchen and threw it away! Even worse, he had a melt down when I fished it out and gave it to my dad.

Mine likes to throw away his underwear. We had a different trash can as a diaper pail so his underwear used to go in there. But I guess to him there is no difference. At least underwear is relatively cheap.
