Every now and then E leans over and slurps up the (non-soapy) bath water! He also likes to chew on a wet washcloth, which my pedi is totally cool with since it's cleaning his teeth.
Is this totally weird behavior? Does your LO do it? Should I try harder to stop him?

I've always drank water out of the nozzle during my baths. Probably totally weird but I love it. I guess maybe just keep being careful he doesn't drink soap and he should be ok

it's very common behavior. olive does it all the time and charlie used to when he was younger.

My kids do it, too. I just end the bath if it's soapy water and they won't quit; otherwise, I don't worry about it.

She doesn't drink the bath water, but she does take the washcloth and chew on it.

Yup. LO is nearly 11 weeks and turns her head and drinks the water. We just laugh and figure it can't hurt her too much.

My LO loves to *nom* washcloths . . . I give her a wet washcloth that hasn't been in soapy water, but she will *nom* any washcloth regardless of soapy-ness!

He also laps up the water in the shower like a dog. And he looooves to stick his tongue out when I wash his face over the sink so he can slurp up some water. Weird kids!

He doesn't drink the bath water because he can't reach it, but definitely give him a wet washcloth to occupy him.

Not so much now, but he did it all the time up until a few months ago. He still loves chewing on washcloths.

Yeah, Johnny does that, too. And he always seems surprised that the water ends up in his mouth. It's pretty funny. But soapy or not, I think it's totally harmless.

Yep. She drinks her dirty bath water and sucks on the washcloths. It's totally gross but I like to tell myself that's why I buy the plant based soap. It makes me feel just slightly better about how gross it is.

My LO is almost 16 months and has always played with those stacking cups during bathtime...but now she has just started trying to drink from them (they have holes at the bottom for the water to drain out but sometimes it doesn't drain fast enough). I take them away when she does it but now she leans over and puts her mouth in the water...not drinking yet but I'm sure that's coming up
