My LO almost always wakes up happy! I love it. On the occasion that she wakes up crying, I know she isn't ready to get up, so I help her go back to sleep.

He's been happy in the mornings recently. He usually wakes up crying from naps though

She wakes up grunting. In the morning she can grunt for an hour before she really wakes up. I don't know if that's a happy sound or not!

Most of the time he wakes up happy in the morning. I get the most smiles in the morning and lots of cooing too.

Happy, if he is crying then he usually needs some help getting back to sleep. I love that happy wake up!

Happy. If he's crying, I know something is wrong (he's got a full diaper or hurt himself) or he needs more sleep.

As long as she's gotten enough sleep, whether night or nap, she wakes up happy. If she wakes up fussy then I go in and lay down with her & nurse her back to dreamland... she'll normally sleep another 45 min or so.
