My LO wears a onesie under all her outfits and pajamas, I'm wondering how many people actually do this. I wouldn't if it were summer, but since it's so cold here I do.

I've never thought about putting on a onesie under pjs.
LO usually wears a dress with bloomers, onesie and pants, just a onesie, or a dress with leggings.

Yes I've been putting a plain onesie under her sleepers and longer sleeved onesies if I don't have a sweater for her. They are basically her undershirt! I think she needs it for warmth.

Yes! It's cold here and I feel like she should have an undershirt for how squirmy she is...no accidental exposed baby belly. I put a short sleeve onesie under her pjs bc I feel like the zipper/snaps would bother her...also I just like that extra layer bc she doesn't use a blanket yet

Not when he sleeps...he sleeps in a fleece sleep sack, and he runs hot, and co-sleeps with us half the night, so I feel like an extra layer would be too much. Maybe when it's a little bit deeper into winter?

I guess it would depend on what your weather is like? I think it would be too warm with a onesie + pjs + swaddle/sleepsack in SoCal. I've been even thinking that a onesie is probably all I would need under a swaddle or sleep sack until November (for us).

@shopaholic: Here it's 30 degrees at night right now, and within another month it can get down in the teens. She sleeps in a sleeveless sleep sack over her pajamas and onesie but never seems to be too hot. Her hands are always freezing so I assume she isn't too sweaty...

@shopaholic: my lo is just in a diaper and sleep sack still. It's hot here!

No onesie under her clothes and PJs yet.. I might start having her wear layers if it gets colder though.

@Bao: Yikes! Are you guys sleeping with the heater on yet? I turned ours on for the first time last night because it got to a chilly 57 degrees! Maybe little scratch mittens for her hands?
@artbee: I bet! DH went to school in Miami and we did my birthday (tomorrow) in Miami last year. SO nice!

No, but I'm considering it now.. it's been getting colder here. So far, I've been putting her in footed PJs (usually fleece) with a fleece sleepsack, but I'll probably add another layer tonight.

I have never put an under layer on him, even though there is snow on the ground now. He was wearing a thermal long sleeve, layered under an open plaid shirt, and jeans today though (with a knit hat and winter boots for meeting a friend for coffee). At night we just use a 2.5 tog sleep sack with a footed sleeper and he is plenty hot.

@shopaholic: We live on the 3rd floor and it actually stays warm enough in here 67-72 average, we haven't had to turn it on yet! If it gets below 67 I will though. For some reason though it just feels chilly in here...maybe it's just us getting used to the cold...last week, it was 75 out so it's been a real rollercoaster for weather. I have been putting socks on her hands, lol she looks silly but it works!
