What do you put under them to keep them warmer? Leggings? Thicker tights? LO has a ton of skirts, and I would love to make them a cute fall/winter outfit. What kind of longer tops go well with skirts?

Last year Target had some fleece-lined leggings. They pilled pretty quickly, so I might look for something better this year. Otherwise we have also done footed or footless thicker tights. She also will just wear plain long sleeve t-shirts under or over her cotton dresses (tank or tee)...or add a hoodie overtop! Last year Gap also had some sweaters that were cute for wearing with skirts...DD had a pink one that had a sparkly gold thread woven thru that was fairly mix-n-match.

We don't really do skirts because it's a pain for me to match tops with. But dresses yes we just add leggings!

Leggings and tights. It doesn't get too cold here so leggings are usually all we need.

Yes, year round but we don't get super cold weather.

Just regular leggings. Occasionally fleece lined leggings if she will be outside a lot but she overheats in them inside.

She basically wears leggings no matter the season and no matter whether she's wearing a shirt or dress

Yes, we just add leggings. Maybe fleece lined if it's going to be super cold.

Tights, leggings, leg warmers. My girl loves her skirts and dresses! She usually wears t shirts with them - long or short sleeved. I need to find her more leg warmers though! She rocks them!

@KayKay: Had the same experience with the fleecey leggings. I got them for DD and myself but they looked awful after just one or two washes so they ended up just being for underneath snow pants.
My DD is a super girly girl so I usually put leggings or sweater tights and boots on her. Sometimes I will put regular tights on underneath of her leggings as well if it is particularly cold outside. I have gotten some really really cute tunic tops at Old Navy that are long enough to cover her tush in leggings.

It doesn't get super cold here so we do dresses with leggings all through the winter. We don't do many skirts bc dresses are just so much easier not having to find a separate top. We don't do tights to school bc they're a little harder for her to manage on her own going potty.
If we did skirts I would probably do a lot of cardigans in the winter

She wears leggings or regular tights. I don't buy super thick tights because daycare is so sweltering hot. She has a snow suit if it's really cold, so I'm not too worried about her legs getting cold if we are outside.
@sandy: Good point about the potty+tights! I'll have to keep that in mind when the weather starts getting cooler and see if we need to get more leggings instead.
