I was so against it before I had kids! I don't care anymore and my LO wears some stuff with Monsters Inc, Hello Kitty and some other characters I can't name right now!

Once he was able to express a preference, we started. I used to be against it but I love how happy and excited he gets to put on his Woody shirt or his batman jammies with the cape

No I hate it. He will wear for a polite picture and then it's off! Once he's old enough to care, I'll let him choose.

She wears a few Elmo clothes once in awhile. She loves him and always points to him on her tummy.

No, but I'm sure he'll be into superheroes or something of the sort when he's bigger. If he wants a Batman cape I won't be able to deny him

Yes, I love that he loves the clothes. Mostly cars and Jake at this point. But I won't rule anything out.

Not really. She fell in love with this hand-me-down Disney princess shirt and insisted on wearing almost all the time, everyday.

No. If she really wants some when she's older I may buy a piece or two but in general I don't like it.

Not yet, but I'm sure she will love Hello Kitty since Mommy loves Hello Kitty (and wears it too!)...

Nope, she's not old enough to care and I don't really care for it either.

I won't buy that stuff for her; but, when she's old enough to ask for it, I won't say no. I am not a big fan of name brands in general, unless it's free or I'm getting paid...same rules apply for my baby (:

@oliviaoblivia: lol!
Nah...it's not really my thing. I try to buy clothes without sayings but sometimes we need a lot of long sleeve or short sleeve shirts and there aren't enough plain, layering clothes out there.

Well, I love Hello Kitty - so we have a received quite a few HK gifts! We were gifted a Minnie Mouse dress and I bought one Minnie Mouse bib. I think it's cuter on little boys, but I know all parents end up having to let their kids wear whatever characters they're into by a certain age. It's what they love, what are you going to do?

Got a few things from hand me downs but I can't handle any princess stuff.

@oliviaoblivia: eff no!
No...MAYBE he will wear, like...Batman PJs? If that counts.

He has one hot wheels shirt that he doesn't fit into yet. And we only got it because DH is (still) obsessed with hot wheels. When DS is old enough to like certain characters I won't have an issue with buying it. But since he is too young to care and I don't really like a lot of character stuff I don't buy it.

I dont buy it, but I will let her when she gets old enough to ask for it herself.
She did have a Star Wars shirt and she has a Batman hoodie. So I guess I do buy it a little.

DS has one pair of Jake & the Neverland Pirates pjs. I try to buy pieces that I can mix and match so I usually avoid characters. Once DS is old enough to ask for them, I'll get them for him. I love the Monster's Inc. pjs that are out right now! I might buy a onesie in case DS2 arrives before halloween.

I'm not a fan and I don't buy it. We steer clear of most of that kind of stuff in general. I was surprised when DS knew who Mickey Mouse was because we've never talked about it at home, so I guess who learned about Mickey at school. Occasionally we receive it as gifts, but it's just really not my style.

He's got a few things that others have bought him
I don't see a problem with them wearing it, I just don't want it to be every piece of clothing they own

So far she has Hello Kitty gear and a Superman tee with a cape. I don't even care anymore.
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
I just bought my son a tee shirt with Mickey Mouse on it for our upcoming Disney trip. He will probably hate the shirt though, as per usual.
I honestly don't seek it out, but really, in the realm of things, I have too many other things to worry about than character clothing. As long as there are no offensive slogans, I am okay.

All he wears is Angry Birds, Super Heroes or some other character stuff. So, yes. I used to take issue with this, but I have given up. In elementary school, you're "in" if you have the right character on your shirt.
