My daycare just informed me she's getting rid of the hourly rate option and will only have Half & Full Day rates. I'm so bummed She was the only local daycare that provided this option and that's what brought us to her.

Our daycare just does half-day/full-day rates - no hourly options.

No hourly option. Either FT (5 days) or some fraction thereof (2 days a week, 3 days a week, etc.)

Only either 5 days a week FT or 3 days a week FT. No other options.

Ours has a 6 hour option, a 9 hour option, and an 11 hour option. But that is as broken down as it gets for us.

What?!!! Wow I'm suprised! I guess ive been spoiled having an hourly option!

I believe ours does have an hourly option but it's on top of half/full days.

Nope. I think ours is strictly FT only, but she's super flexible so I'm sure you could talk to her about PT or hourly!

Half or full days and PT options with a minimum of 2 days a week.

@jh524: I have never heard of a daycare with an hourly option. I think you might've had a unicorn!

Only 5x a week or 3x a week Full day options here.
You can do mornings only when they are 4(for preschool)

The hourly rate was $4.50. She said she is having a hard time keeping track if people use it longer as most pay in advance. She also said her board decided to make the change.... Whatever that means, I'm not sure because she said she's the owner.
Anyways, it will change to half day rate of $18.00

We have several full and part time options but no hourly rate. The shortest you can do is 9-2. Longest is 730a-600p.

Ours actually only has full time unless you find someone to share your full time slot. So we've been paying full time for the past month even though LO only goes 3x per week. We found a LO to share though who starts on the other 2 days soon thank goodness!

@Mrs.KMM: lol I guess so! I'm bummed to be losing it!! Apparently I've been spoiled

@jh524: I'm sure an hourly rate would really come in handy sometimes!

Full days only. I imagine an hourly option makes it too hard for day cares to predict revenue and staff efficiently

part time or full time (which i think is 3 or 5 days), i don't there is even an option to pay for half days.

you can do many combinations of part and full time as well as half and full days, but no hourly rate.

Ours is the same as @MenagerieMama: but they only allow the share option in the summer months, and supposedly just for teachers off for the summer (to hold the child's spot).

Only full days. If it works for their enrollment numbers, you can do 3 or 4 days instead of all 5, but it can take awhile after you request it for that schedule to be available.

Only full day option (no hourly or half day) and you have to pay for the full week even if LO misses a day or two. There is the option of only doing 3 days a week I think but you have to pay in full for those three days every week. Unless she's going to miss an entire week, in which case we pay 50% reservation fee for that week.

Ours only has full day. Part time care is available. I've never heard of hourly daycare! We pay for 5 days but honestly she goes 4 days or 4.5 days per week. I like the flexibility.

No option except FT. There are a few daycares in my area that offer PT, but, I've never heard of hourly.

Wow, full time only at our provider, and you pay whether LO is there or not!
There is a local DCP that offers hourly, but it is $15.00/hr.

We pay hourly (and only when LO is in attendance) but it's an in-home daycare run by one lady so when she is sick or on vacation we have to find other arrangements. Every situation has their pluses and minuses, I suppose.

No hourly-- just full time (M-F) or part time (option of T/Th or M/W/F) and you pay by the 1st for the entire month.

Oh wow. Mine has an hourly rate and I didn't realize this was uncommon!

I've checked out four near me and all are weekly rates. Half day options aren't available until the pre-school age. No hourly at all.

Our in home only does daily full rates. Our new daycare center only does part time or full time, but i dont think there's even a half day option. The church preschools have those (but they aren't open in the summers here, it seems)
