Mine doesn't.
LO is 6 weeks and already outgrowing the length of some 3m Carter's sleepers. Wondering if this trend will continue.

She's almost 18 months and she wears anywhere form 12 month - 2T. The 2T is long, but 24 month stuff is too wide. Her 18 month pants are starting to almost be too short.
pomelo / 5720 posts
Nope, he's always been ahead. He's almost 19 mos and wearing 24m clothes, some 2T even.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
Nope! She is 12 months (or will be on Tuesday) and still fits in 9 months or 6-`12 stuff. But the 9 months are starting to get tight in the length.
admin / watermelon / 14210 posts
@MrsH: it definitely slows down as they get older.
charlie and olive are pretty true to size. olive runs thin and charlie runs short so clothes might be baggy on olive and long on charlie.
i usually go one size up in tops to get 2 years wear out of them, and one size down in bottoms for charlie since he is short. olive is pretty true to size all around.
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
When they're little, they're usually always ahead. They tend to slow down in growth after the first year, and even more after the second year.
pomegranate / 3565 posts
Nope, never has. He outgrew 0-3 at about 6 weeks, was in 12 months by about 7 months, and in 24 months/2T at one year. He's 17 months now and I've been buying 3T for the summer. He could probably get away with 2T for bottoms but my boy has thighs! Everything fits him long!
pineapple / 12526 posts
Sometimes, but she's usually ahead. She's 23 months and in 2T but can still wear some 24m. When she was under a year, she was usually 1-2 months ahead of sizes, started wearing 6m at 4m, 12m at 9m, etc.
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
Same as @Smurfette:. They can both wear the 9-12 month size in shirts, but still fit in the 6-9 month size just fine as well. As for pants . . . their waists need 3-6 or 6-9, but there legs need 9-12. Skinny, long-legged babies!

D1: She is really tiny for her age so while she's 2.5 years old now, 2T pants are huuuuge on her (she can still wear 12-24 month pants). 2T tops fit her perfectly.
D2: She is almost 5 months and 3-6 month clothes fit perfectly.

@MrsH: Wow, your LO is tall! DS was in the 85th percentile for length last he was checked and now at 15 weeks/3.5 months he's currently in 0-3, but his sleepers are just about to the point where he's going to be too long for them soon. But I accidentally put 3-6 pants on him last week and they were huge, both in the waist and the length.
eggplant / 11824 posts
21 months old and in 18 month clothing. Both the 24m and 2t are too big for her.
pear / 1517 posts
Not until recently. He always wore bigger sizes than his age. He's 17 months now and in. 18 month clothes and he still has a bit of room in them so I think we're now on target!
grapefruit / 4903 posts
She's always been true to size. Now at 15 months, she's right in the middle of 12-18 mo. clothes. She can still wear some of her 9-12 month things, but most are too small.
pomegranate / 3759 posts
With DD1 she is 20 months and wears mostly 3T. With DD2, at 7 weeks she is almost out of 3 months.
pomelo / 5073 posts
She will be 5 mths on Saturday and wears 6-9 mth stuff now. Some of the 6 is almost too short. She's a long one!
GOLD / cantaloupe / 6581 posts
Nope! She's 8 months and has been in 12mo and up for about a month now. She's a big girl!
blogger / honeydew / 7081 posts
She's 6.5 months, and currently in Carter's 6 month clothing. Other brands are 3-6 months or 6-9 months - so she's pretty close.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
DS was small so he got a lot of wear out of his 0-3 month clothing. He went to 3-6 month when he was about 5 months old. He must have gotten a growth spurt when he was 6/6.5 months because he outgrew his 6 month clothing in about a month/month and a half. He's 7 months now and is wearing 9 month clothing, but the length in pants and sleeves are always a bit long so I roll them up.
pear / 1812 posts
So far, yes. She's short though (5%) and things tend to get tight before she gets too long.
honeydew / 7504 posts
D has always been pretty on-track. He usually moves up in size about 3-4 weeks before the "month" date - so he started wearing 9-month stuff at 8 months, 12-month stuff at 11 months, etc. He is 13.5 months now, and wearing mostly 12 month stuff. A few 9-12 month shirts still fit, too. He tends to need to move up mostly because of the bulk of cloth diapers. If he wore disposable, he'd last longer in the sizes.
squash / 13764 posts
Not really....He's 16 months and 12-18 month shirts and pants are too short. But 18-24 pants are waaay too big in the waist. So he's dealing with some high water pants right now. During the sumer he'll be in 12-18 month shorts, since it doesn't matter if they're a bit short.
pomegranate / 3398 posts
Nope. A will be 11 months on Sat and she is wearing mostly 18month clothes. She will probably be in 24 month jammies soon.
She's super long. 31 inches already. But only 22lbs.
pineapple / 12802 posts
Nope.
He's such a tiny little peanut. He wears 6-9 month shirts and onsies, but can still fit (albeit snugly) into 3 month pants. What a shorty!
honeydew / 7667 posts
@ShootingStar: 97th percentile for height. She grew an inch and a half by her 4 week checkup. Her 0-3 month fit width wise but look like capris.
pomegranate / 3983 posts
Yes, 2.5 year old in 2T, 1 year old in 12-18 months (but when he was younger he was always ahead).
pomegranate / 3858 posts
For some things she's 12-18 months, but she's still in 6-12 or 9-12 stuff for a lot. The 12-18 is big on her. (She's 15 months)
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
Wagon Jr. is pretty consistently a year behind (age 4 now, wears size 3T in almost everything, but the pants are still too long) and LMW is pretty true to size, which is hard to believe because she's so huge for her age. But she's 19 months now (almost 20) and fits perfectly in her 18-24 month clothes. In Carter's, she still fits in the 18 month stuff but it's getting small... 24 month stuff is a little big.
That being said, the jump from 18-24 months to 2T is pretty big!!
pineapple / 12793 posts
Nope. She's almost 14 months and her 18 month pjs are too short as of this week. For clothes she is usually at least one size ahead. I did just pack away a pair of 18-24 month pants because they were too small.
Kids sizes are so weird.
honeydew / 7909 posts
@MrsH: ds is 97% too!
He was in 3 month until about 2 weeks ago. He's in 6 month clothes and turned 3 months last week.
I should add.. His 9 month sleepers will probably fit very soon!
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
Haha, no. DS is 8 months and wearing 18 month (or 18-24 month) clothing.
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
Right now, yes. He's 3.5 months and wearing 3-6 month clothes. He has short legs though, so he wore 0-3 month pants for longer than he wore tops in that size.
coconut / 8475 posts
Nope. He's almost 17m and...
Pants: 9-12m
Tops: 12m, 12-18m
Full body pjs: 18m because they're usually footed
pineapple / 12566 posts
DS has always been ahead, especially in tops.
Dd just turned 3 months and I can still stuff her into some of her 3 month sleepers. She has been in 6 month onesies for awhile though.
