I have been reading the BB cream posts with interest; however, I never seem to be able to keep any sort of make up on my face. My skin was really oily when I was younger, and while it is not the oil slick it used to be, it's still is not very conducive to keeping make up on my face. By around 10 AM, it's like I never put makeup on at all!
I have a gift card for Amazon that I want to use. Does anyone have a miracle product or makeup that they use for oily skin?

I use the UD all nighter setting spray everyday and it seems to help my makeup last! I've heard ELF makes a pretty good dupe but haven't tried it myself.

My face is oily and I've finally got my makeup to last! I use this primer (a little goes a long way!):

I'm looking for a new foundation at the moment, but as long as I use this primer and use blotting sheets during the day my makeup will last all day! I also use this powder over my foundation:

So my routine is: a light moisturizer, the primer, a foundation, and then I set with the powder.

Unless it's legit foundation, it won't last all day. And even then, a little primer is awesome for getting much longer wear time. If you still want light coverage, and you have the time, I have found that 2 light layers lasts a long time even without a primer. (I use other tricks for my eyeliner)

I use a thicker coverage foundation by Maybelline (or Cover Girl? Can't remember) that seems to last pretty long!

I second the Urban Decay setting sprays! Also just making sure to use powder to set your foundation. Primers help also, in my experience.

Definitely not. I don't wear much makeup though (only blush and mascara most of the time). If I use foundation and liquid eyeliner, I have a chance of it making through the work day, but not always.

my skin isn't oily at all--it's pretty dry actually--but my makeup def doesn't last all day. sometimes my eyeliner does, but i use a light liquid foundation (no powder or anything bc that looks cakey to me on my skin), bronzer, and blush that i def need to reapply if i want it to last longer. even if i use primer, it still needs a touch up by the end of the day

Do you use moisturizer for oily skin? That can also help to mattify (no idea if this is a word) your face and can keep your makeup from running!

Nope. I wear Neutrogena sheer foundation. It's decent coverage. It also doesn't help that I sweat sometimes getting LO ready for the morning daycare drop off while in my coat in the house with the heat on.

Yes - I have oily/combination skin and use Chanel liquid foundation and pressed powder. It stays all day. Also had luck in the past with Revlon Colorstay foundation. I rarely wear eyeshadow, but have only had luck with expensive brands staying on a long time, the cheaper brands (cheaper pigments) seem to fade away quickly!

I have super greasy combination skin and had tried EVERYTHING with no joy until I came across Bare Minerals Mineral Veil powder. On days when I need more coverage, I use their foundation mixed in with it. It lasts all day, it's amazing!

If you really need it to stay on all day, like for a special event, I've never come across a better setting spray than Model in a Bottle. That stuff has serious holding power- like hairspray for your face.

I have pretty oily skin but it's also pretty sensitive. I have had luck just using a really good liquid foundation (I like Bobbi Brown) and if I want it to last all day I set it with a loose powder using a big brush. Since having LO I don't wear a lot of makeup but I'm trying to get back into it bc I just feel better about myself...I hated seeing a tired washed out face in the mirror

@MsLipGloss: what are your eyeliner tricks??? My eyeliner is smuged under my eyes by around 2pm! What am i doing wrong??

@yellowbird: I go over my eyeliner with eyeshadow in the same color using an angled liner brush. That usually makes it stay. You can also use an eyeshadow primer as well.

I had the same problem until I started using Estee Lauder Double Wear....it's definitely a full coverage foundation but I come after working all day and look exactly the same as when I left in the morning!! It's a holy grail product for me!! I don't use any primer and I set it with the tiniest bit of powder....but it really doesn't need it.

They make primer for eyeliners and eye makeup too-they do a great job of making eyeliner stick (and I use waterproof)
If you think about it, you don't paint a house or piece f furniture without primer, right? Primer is an adhesion promotor. They work the same for your face!
Oh and use a sponge, not your fingers

I second Smashbox photo finish makeup primer. It rocks!!
Also, I use eye shadow primer. I have found my makeup stays on all day.

@MrsKoala: I use a pencil liner right now, but I've never tried to go over it with eyeshadow. I'll try tomorrow!
@erinpye: is that the kind in a little pot? I can't master putting it on evenly with a brush, and it ends up looking too harsh. I need more practice!

@yellowbird: yes! Get an angled brush and have someone at Sephora show you! You can blend it or cover it with eyeshadow, or do a super thin line, and it doesn't look harsh

I usually use a pencil liner for a base (I am partial to black or grey), and then I go over the line with an angled brush that has been dipped in wet eye shadow. (I put a little water on the angled brush and put it in the eye shadow until I make a little *paste*). And don't worry about the pencil underneath being perfect . . . you can smooth over the line (and get the perfect wing/cat eye) with the angled brush. It lasts alllll day!

@yellowbird: There are definitely some pencils that are softer and that tend to smudge more. And also some that are waxier than others (makes the color less intense and makes it harder to apply with even coverage). I always apply foundation to my eye lids and dust them with powder before applying my eye makeup (at least during the week!)
ETA: I also pack the shadow in to my lash line. And I never use dry shadow. It's always wet!

I read a blog a long time ago that said that Monistat chafing relief powder gel is actually the same thing as smashbox photo finish primer. I've used it for years and it works like a hot damn It's like $6 for the monistat as opposed to the $40 or whatever for smashbox. I have oily/combination skin and my makeup stays put all day

I don't wear face makeup and my concealer definitely does not last all day, but my two make-up MUST HAVES are mascara and blush (otherwise I look like death), so I have spent a lot of time experimenting with what works best.
Blush - Tarte cheek stain lasts all day.
Mascara - I have to curl my eyelashes with a good curler (I pay the big bucks for Shu Emura) and then use waterproof mascara. Maybelline Falsies or VoluumExpress are my favorites - the VE is more waterproof, but harder to get off. Both stay on all day without flaking or smudging.

Origins Stay Tuned foundation is my holy grail foundation. I'm acne prone with an oily t zone and it stays all day and it doesn't feel like I'm wearing anything! It's supposed to balance your skin out.

I've always preferred full coverage and when I was younger I wore lancome, now I've been wearing korres. I still don't feel like I've found the perfect foundation though, especially in the wintertime I feel like it just rubs off within a couple hours as I blow my nose, etc.
