Yes. It is AWFUL. Once in college, he wore holey boxers and his jeans happened to have a hole in the exact same place. He didn't care that a testicle was hanging out. Now he lets me take the holey ones for cleaning rags, but it's a struggle every time.

@evansjamie: "He didn't care that a testicle was hanging out" Best comment I've ever read on HB
I also battle my husband on throwing them out. Why???

@lamariniere: my MIL buys DH underwear every year at Christmas!! So weird! And they're always cheapo crap brands that get holes quickly or the discounted 'irregular' packs.
DH won't get rid of them until they split completely. I try to throw some away, but it's not high on my priority list. He gets holes in all his clothing though- it's amazing really, even his shoes!

@jennylynn: I was mortified. He really could care less what people think. I threw those jeans out ASAP.

@lemondrop: haha I do this too!! Make a bigger hole and then he won't want to wear them(I hope anyways!)

haha, I think I'm worse than dh is about this! his don't really seem to rip that often, but the dogs somehow always tend to steal mine and chew holes in them and then I still wear them anyway...nooooo idea why....

He does, but I generally don't bother with them unless I see a REALLY bad pair (like the ones where the elastic band was literally still attached in only three places about an inch long each). Those get tossed, but I don't tell him about it and he almost never notices. Same with socks and tee shirts.

@evansjamie: OMG. That's hilarious/awful.
I had no idea this was so common-- I thought DH was just really rough on his boxers! I'll throw them out when I notice it in the laundry and I don't get any push back. But I have to admit I'm the one who wears holey socks-- they get little holes so fast and it somehow feels wasteful to toss them right away. It makes figuring out what socks to wear to someone's house, when I know I have to take my shoes off, a lot more difficult.
I also buy all of DH's boxers. I don't think he has bought a single pair for himself in 10 years. I think I'd be suspicious if he DID, at this point

OMG, yes! He won't get rid of them. Since I do laundry in our house, I throw away the worst offender each time. I've purchased several new packages to replace them. Luckily, I don't think he's noticed that I've been tossing the holey underwear.

Yep! And he has at least 10 pairs that are so thin they're transparent. He hasn't bought new underwear since we met! So gross lol

This made me laugh so hard. Yes, mine definitely does! I just don't get how his undies get so holey, so quickly. It must be his explosive toots...

@evansjamie: oMG!! Laughed soo hard reading this. DH will be lounging around in his undies at home. I'll be on the couch and I look over and there's a big hole right in that area and I'll freak out. Never expect to look up and see THAT staring back at me.
