Just curious.

I just had my LO's 4 month check up and she again encouraged us to sleep train. She first brought it up to us at his 2 month appointment and encouraged us to consider it/plan for it. I've never complained about his sleep -- he's not great, but not bad, fairly typical I think for a 4 month old -- she's just brought it up independently.

I find this curious as I myself am a pediatrician, and I don't push sleep training. I discuss strategies if the family voices concerns/expresses the need for help or advice, but I don't incorporate it as routine advice.

For me, I personally think there can be a role for sleep training, but very much believe it's every parents individual choice. I try to support parents wherever their personal beliefs lie (within safe boundaries of course! I do advise back-to-sleep, no blankets/bumpers, etc), instead of push my own agenda. Especially at only 2 or 4 months of age!!!

Just curious as to other people's experiences...
