My SOs mom calls or texts him atleast 3-4 times a week. I talk to my mom 2-3 times a week and to my dad maybe once a week.

Neither my mom nor I are phone people, but we text back and forth on an almost daily basis (especially since I'm so far into this pregnancy, I have about a billion questions/complaints for her, lol).

DH probably talks to his mom on the phone twice a month, but we see them at least that often. She calls to chat with me at least once a week, though, and her and I go on "girl-dates" sometimes.

I talk to my parents several times a week, but DH talked to his maybe 2-3 times a month. It has gotten more frequent recently as his grandparents are in ill health and they want to know about LO.

My DH talks with his mom on the phone 1-2 times a week and I talk to my mom probably 3-4 times, so both of us are very close to our parents for sure.

DH talks to his mom more than i talk to mine. MIL can't handle going 48 hours without speaking to him. my mom & i are closer though, and we enjoy each other's company, not so for DH & MIL.

My husband and his mom text or send emails to each other. They're in the same time zone. My mother and I are 6 hours apart, so she usually calls me around noon, as she's waking up for the day. After my son was born it was daily, but now it's tapered off to twice a week. Before that it was weekly...when I was in college I rarely called home. In fact, my mother used to leave messages with our home phone number in case I forgot it.

Before baby, I talked to my mom about 1-2 times a week. Now, she calls me 3-4 times a DAY!!

DH talks to his mom every 2-3 days. He is an only child, so they talk often.

I talk to my mom at least once a day. DH talks to his mom a couple times a week.

Since his mom lives just up the street and watches our dog during the day, we see her and talk to her just about daily. I talk to my own mother about once a week, but we do have a better relationship now that I live 3000 miles away!

MIL calls the hubby daily or every other day, but their phone conversations last no longer than 5 minutes - max! My mom and I communicate on the same frequency via email. My mom can drag on vocally and so I've screened her calls a couple times. Emailing is simple and I can respond to all her questions and concerns to the point.

DH has a good relationship with his parents and calls them once a week. Now that the baby is here, they will call him more often!

I also talk to my parents 1-2 times a week, but it's sometimes difficult with the time difference (we live in different cities) and busy schedules. Now that my parents know how to use email/texts, we are able to find other ways to communicate with one another.

@mrscastro: i totally know how you feel. it's funny how the more alike you are, the more likely you are to argue about little things.

UGH. Yes. We live two blocks away from his parents so not only do we so them every day, but he talks to his mom on the phone and texts her every day too. She texts him to say good morning! It drives me NUTS.

We see my parents a lot as well, but I don't have a problem telling them to leave me alone when I feel they are being too overbearing.

@Mrsdaredevil: oh my gosh that would drive me nuts too! I think it was the best thing for our marriage for us to move 1200 miles away from his parents. He was a total momma's boy.

Not as much anymore, maybe once a week and it's usually texting.

For me? I talk to my mom nearly every day, she also lives 15 minutes away from me, so I see her at least 1x a week.

That quote does make me sad though because my LO is a boy, and I just want him to stay my little boy forever!!
