I am usually pretty good with moms and as far as I know, Mrs. Bee's mom likes me ok!
A few people have mentioned that their SO's mom prefers an ex over them. Ouch!! I think that would be really hard for me to process. I'd probably hope that over time, I could change her mind!

Yes, but that's because his ex ran off with his best friend, so the bar was set pretty low 
Plus he only has one ex!

Well he only had one serious girlfriend before me, and I don't think she interacted a whole lot with his family, so I think they like me better? I don't know, it's not something they've ever mentioned, I just assume so!

DH says so, because she has not said anything negative about me where she has been very vocal about his exes. But, really I don't know.

Oh yes we were high school sweethearts, but the girl he dated before me was absolutely crazy and a drama queen. My MIL loves me to pieces and she's been calling me her daughter in law since the first couple of years we were dating.

He only ever brought one other girl home to his family and I'm not sure they were a huge fan of hers. I get along with my in-laws pretty well!

Hopefully. She says all his exes are crazy. She actually works with one of his ex girlfriends and got invited to her wedding. Awkward. ( she didn't go). Also I see this same ex pretty frequently and when I was pregnant she would tell MIL how cute I looked, yet she never actually talks to me when she sees me.

Yes! I think that there were other really sweet girls that his parents really liked, but they were more like highschool sweethearts and nothing every really came of those relationships.
His ex is completely heinous so I pretty much walk on water to his parents compared to her! LOL.

Well DH never really had a serious GF before me, in at least recent years. His mom loves me, and I think it's because she thought he was going to be a lifetime bachelor!

yes! My MIL told DH she was so happy to finally have a daughter....she never said that about DH's first wife!
Plus I gave her her first and only grandchild, so yeah....pretty golden over here

Well, she really really liked me prior to having to DD. After DD, it's been rocky. But, compared to DH's ex's, I'm definitely her favorite.

Wagon Sr. only has one serious ex and MIL disapproved of her immediately. Probably a big reason why he broke it off with her. She approved of me immediately

Nope! She's been very vocal over the years about how much she likes DH's exes. She's kept in touch with them way more than DH does on FB. DH told me when we were dating that his mom likes exes better when they're exes, not dating. Things were good before a confrontation during my maternity leave. We see the inlaws tomorrow, first time since that incident.

I sure hope so, his exes were cra-zay. I know she's super fond of me, so I really doubt there's another one she likes more. They both (MIL & FIL), however, refer to how smokin hott his exes were, which frankly hurts my feelings more than if they liked their personalities!

Dating isn't super acceptable in DH's culture, so I'm the only girl his parents ever met, and it was about a month before we got engaged. =)

@BabyBoecksMom: why does she like you less after having DD? I ask, because I kind of feel the same way about my MIL. I'm not sure why I think this, but I just get the feeling that she likes me less since having LO. Maybe I feel like she doesn't trust me because our parenting styles are a bit different.

@allison: there's a lot of factors but the main one is that I stand my ground when it comes to my parenting decisions, and she's used to people doing whatever she wants. It's taken time, but thinks are starting to get better.

We've never talked about it, but I hope so! DH and I are still really good friends with his only other serious girlfriend, and she's the only other one that I think they really enjoyed having around.
