as often as they say no?
...that would be a strong NO for us.

I would say it's starting to even out, she says "yeah" a lot not so much "yes."
coconut / 8475 posts
He only says "no!"
And if I do ask him and the answer is supposed to be yes, I always get a different response like "please!" Or "thank you!"
"Do you want more milk?" Either "no!" Or "please!"
pomelo / 5720 posts
I'd say it's pretty even. Sometimes he says no, followed by a very quick yes
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
He does, but it doesn't mean he will actually comply.
Me: G, are you going to listen and follow directions?
G: Yes!
a few minutes later...he's not following directions!!!

She says yeah all the time!!!
Do you want to go outside? YEAH!!!!
Do you want a snack? YEAH!!!!
Do you want to dance? YEAH!!!
But she says no equally as much. Especially if I'm trying to do something for her that she wants to do herself. Her new favorite is "I do, I do, I do, I do!!!!!!!!"

@Sammyfab: ha! My niece did that, except with no. So confusing!
"Do you want to go outside?" noooooooo...
"Do you want to put your shoes on?" No!

@Espion: ha! Now that I think about it, he probably just says yes to get me off his back.
Me: one more minute then we turn off your show..
Him: ya! *nods enthusiastically*
Me: ok...time to turn off your show.
Him: noooooo!!!!

haaaa! she loves to say no.
she says yes sometimes, but usually she says, "happy!" in place of yes. lol.
squash / 13764 posts
Lo actually never says no! Unless he's imitating me saying no to something he shouldn't touch (like "no no" while pointing at the light socket).
He says "all done" when he doesn't want something/doesn't want to do something. And he says "All done" alllllll day long, lol. SO same idea
He also doesn't say yes though, he says "yeah!". Cutest word ever!
coconut / 8430 posts
Nope! She says Ya to only a few things like "want to go outside?" And "do you want Cheerios?" But it's a really enthusiastic Ya!
honeydew / 7091 posts
She doesn't say either, but she loooves to shake her head 'no' to any question. It's adorable though... haha
grapefruit / 4442 posts
She use to always say Yes, it was pretty much her first word. now everything is no and sometimes she would catch herself and say yes. If I ask A do you want a cookie, she will say No and then go yes LOL
grapefruit / 4278 posts
If he wants something he'll repeat what you asked him. "Want to go outside" "outside", "Are you hungry" "hungry". If he doesn't want something he gives a very resounding "No"

LO says NO to everything and shakes her head while saying No- even when she actually wants to do something!! drives me crazy. "M, do you want to go outside?" "Noooo" (while shaking head). Then proceeds to walk to door and get coat. She knows how to say Yes and nod, but the girl just loves telling me no, ha

Ha ha ha! Erm, no! For some reason, the word "no" HAS to be said in groups of three or five. "ni, ni, ni, ni, ni!!!" Yeah.
cantaloupe / 6630 posts
@oliviaoblivia: I've stopped reading them "Where's Spot?" for that reason. It encourages "no" faaar too much for my liking
pomegranate / 3272 posts
For the longest time, DS would say yeah to everything and sometimes shake his head no. Within the past two weeks, the no has come out and that is now the favorite. It's no to everything! He's 18 mo

@travelgirl1: Oh my goodness, that HAS to be where L gets it from! We read that book multiple times each day (her absolute favorite), and I always do a dramatic 'Nooooo!' and shake my head with each flap! She cracks up so I love it and keep doing it, but I didn't realize she was picking it up from me.

He has yet to say the word yes yet. He says no allll the time. I'm blaming that stupid "no no yes yes" book. He loves me to read it to him but he only says the "no no" part. lol
GOLD / pomelo / 5737 posts
@mrsjyw: same here. I get her to say "yay!" about things. But no is so much more fun!
cantaloupe / 6630 posts
@swurlygurl: I know, I would always do the dramatic "noooo" too until they started repeating it while I read and realised that actually, that's not a word I want them saying too much
